1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	1 Jahvè si rivolse a Mosè:
2 Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee the finest and dearest oil of olives, to furnish the lamps continually,	2 «Ordina ai figli di Israele che ti portino olio puro di olive spremute per il candelabro, per farvi salire un fiamma perenne.
3 Without the veil of the testimony in the tabernacle of the covenant. And Aaron shall set them from evening until morning before the Lord, by a perpetual service and rite in your generations.	3 Aronne lo disporrà fuori del velo della Testimonianza, nella Tenda del convegno: dalla sera al mattino sarà continuamente al cospetto di Jahvè; statuto perpetuo per le vostre generazioni.
4 They shall be set upon the most pure candlestick before the Lord continually.	4 Sopra il candelabro pur disporrà le lampade che saranno continuamente al cospetto di Jahvè.
5 Thou shalt take also fine hour, and shalt bake twelve leaves thereof, two tenths shall be in every loaf :	5 Prenderai fior di farina e la farai cuocere nel forno in dodici focacce: ogni focaccia sarà di due decimi;
6 And thou shalt set them six and six one against another upon the most clean table before the Lord:	6 le porrai in due pile, sei per ogni pila sopra la tavola pura al cospetto di Jahvè.
7 And thou shalt put upon them the dearest frankincense, that the bread may be for a memorial of the oblation of the Lord.	7 Sopra ogni pila porrai incenso puro: esso sarà la rievocazione del pane, il sacrificio di fuoco per Jahvè.
8 Every sabbath they shall be changed before the Lord, being received of the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant:	8 Ogni sabato saranno disposti continuamente al cospetto di Jahvè: li forniranno i figli di Israele quale patto perpetuo;
9 And they shall be Aaron's and his sons', that they may eat them in the holy place: because it is most holy of the sacrifices of the Lord by a perpetual right.	9 poi spetteranno ad Aronne e ai suoi, in pani che li mangeranno in luogo sacro: poiché sono per lui un’offerta sacrosanta, presa dai sacrifici di fuoco di Jahvè. Statuto perpetuo».
10 And behold there went out the son of a woman of Israel, whom she had of an Egyptian, among the children of Israel, and fell at words in the camp with a man of Israel.	10 Il figlio di una Israelita e di un Egiziano uscì tra i figli di Israele e nell’accampamento attaccò rissa con un Israelita.
11 And when he had blasphemed the name, and had cursed it, he was brought to Moses: (now his mother was called Salumith, the daughter of Dabri, of the tribe of Dan:)	11 Ora, il figlio della Israelita pronunciò il Nome e lo maledisse. Lo condussero a Mosè: sua madre si chiamava Shelomit figlia di Dabri, della tribù di Dan.
12 And they put him into prison, till they might know what the Lord would command.	12 Lo posero sotto custodia per decider di lui secondo l’ordine di Jahvè.
13 And the Lord spoke to Moses,	13 Jahvè parlò così a Mosè:
14 Saying: Bring forth the blasphemer without the camp, and let them that heard him, put their hands upon his head, and let all the people stone him.	14 «Fa’ uscire dall’accampamento colui che maledisse; tutti coloro che hanno udito porranno le mani sulla sua testa e tutta la comunità lo lapiderà.
15 And thou shalt speak to the children of Israel: the man that curseth his God, shall bear his sin:	15 Ai figli di Israele dirai: “Chiunque maledirà il suo Dio sconterà il proprio peccato:
16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die: all the multitude shall stone him, whether he be a native or a stranger. He that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die.	16 chi pronuncia il nome di Jahvè deve morire; tutta la comunità lo deve lapidare. Forestiero o nativo che sia, se pronuncia il nome sia messo a morte.
17 He that striketh and killeth a man, dying let him die.	17 Chiunque percuote un uomo deve morire.
18 He that killeth a beast, shall make it good, that is to say, shall give beast for beast.	18 Colui che percuote un animale deve dare il compenso: animale per animale.
19 He that giveth a blemish to any of his neighbours: as he hath done, so shall it be done to him:	19 A chi fa uno sfregio al proprio congiunto sarà fatto come egli fece.
20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, shall he restore. What blemish he gave, the like shall he be compelled to suffer.	20 Frattura per frattura, occhio per occhio, dente per dente: qual è lo sfregio inflitto a un uomo, tale sia quello inflitto a lui.
21 He that striketh a beast, shall render another. He that striketh a man shall be punished.	21 Chi percuote un animale deve dare il compenso, ma chi percuote un uomo deve morire.
22 Let there be equal judgment among you, whether he be a stranger, or a native that offends: because I am the Lord your God.	22 La sentenza sarà uguale per il forestiero e il nativo, poiché io sono Jahvè vostro Dio”».
23 And Moses spoke to the children of Israel: and they brought forth him that had blasphemed, without the camp, and they stoned him. And the children of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses.	23 Dopo che Mosè ebbe dato questi ordini ai figli di Israele, questi fecero uscire dall’accampamento colui che aveva maledetto e lo lapidarono. I figli di Israele compirono così quanto Jahvè aveva ordinato a Mosè.
