¹ Unto the end, for them that shall he changed, a testimony for Asaph, a psalm.	¹ [For the choirmaster Tune: 'The decrees are lilies' Of Asaph Psalm] Shepherd of Israel, listen, you wholead Joseph like a flock, enthroned on the winged creatures, shine forth
² Give ear, O thou that rulest Israel: thou that leadest Joseph like a sheep. Thou that sittest upon the cherubims, shine forth	² over Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh; rouse your valour and come to our help.
³ before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasses. Stir up thy might, and come to save us.	³ God, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.
⁴ Convert us, O God: and shew us thy face, and we shall be saved.	⁴ Yahweh, God Sabaoth, how long wil you flare up at your people's prayer?
⁵ O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy servant?	⁵ You have made tears their food, redoubled tears their drink.
⁶ How long wilt thou feed us with the bread of tears: and give us for our drink tears in measure?	⁶ You let our neighbours quarrel over us, our enemies mock us.
⁷ Thou hast made us to be a contradiction to our neighbours: and our enemies have scoffed at us.	⁷ God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.
⁸ O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.	⁸ You brought a vine out of Egypt, to plant it you drove out nations;
⁹ Thou hast brought a vineyard out of Egypt: thou hast cast cut the Gentiles and planted it.	⁹ you cleared a space for it, it took root and fil ed the whole country.
¹⁰ Thou wast the guide of its journey in its sight: thou plantedst the roots thereof, and it filled the land.	¹⁰ The mountains were covered with its shade, and the cedars of God with its branches,
¹¹ The shadow of it covered the hills: and the branches thereof the cedars of God.	¹¹ its boughs stretched as far as the sea, its shoots as far as the River.
¹² It stretched forth its branches unto the sea, and its boughs unto the river.	¹² Why have you broken down its fences? Every passer-by plucks its grapes,
¹³ Why hast thou broken down the hedge thereof, so that all they who pass by the way do pluck it?	¹³ boars from the forest tear at it, wild beasts feed on it.
¹⁴ The boar out of the wood hath laid it waste: and a singular wild beast hath devoured it.	¹⁴ God Sabaoth, come back, we pray, look down from heaven and see, visit this vine;
¹⁵ Turn again, O God of hosts, look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vineyard:	¹⁵ protect what your own hand has planted.
¹⁶ And perfect the same which thy right hand hath planted: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.	¹⁶ They have thrown it on the fire like dung, the frown of your rebuke wil destroy them.
¹⁷ Things set on fire and dug down shall perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.	¹⁷ May your hand protect those at your side, the child of Adam you have strengthened for yourself!
¹⁸ Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.	¹⁸ Never again wil we turn away from you, give us life and we will cal upon your name.
¹⁹ And we depart not from thee, thou shalt quicken us: and we will call upon thy name.	¹⁹ God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shal be safe.
²⁰ O Lord God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.
