1 The psalm of David which he sung to the Lord for the words of Chusi the son of Jemini. [2 Kings 16.]	1 Lamentação de Davide, cantada por ele ao Senhor, a propósito das palavras de Chus, Benjaminita.
2 O Lord my God, in thee have I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.	2 Senhor, Deus meu, a ti recorro; salva-me de todos os que me perseguem, e livra-me,
3 Lest at any time he seize upon my soul like a lion, while there is no one to redeem me, nor to save.	3 para que ninguém, como leão, arrebate a minha alma, a despedace, sem que haja quem a livre.
4 O Lord my God, if I have done this thing, if there be iniquity in my hands:	4 Senhor Deus meu, se eu fiz isso, se há iniquidade nas minhas mãos,
5 If I have rendered to them that repaid me evils, let me deservedly fall empty before my enemies.	5 se fiz algum mal ao meu amigo, eu, que salvei os meus injustos adversários:
6 Let the enemy pursue my soul, and take it, and tread down my life on the earth, and bring down my glory to the dust.	6 Persiga o inimigo a minha alma e apodere-se dela, calque contra a terra a minha vida, e arraste pelo pó a minha honra.
7 Rise up, O Lord, in thy anger: and be thou exalted in the borders of my enemies. And arise, O Lord my God, in the precept which thou hast commanded:	7 Levanta-te, Senhor na tua ira (para me socorrer), ergue-te contra o furor dos meus opressores, e toma a minha defesa no juízo que intimaste.
8 and a congregation of people shall surround thee. And for their sakes return thou on high.	8 A multidão dos povos esteja ao redor de ti, e senta-te no alto sobranceiro a ela.
9 The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me.	9 O juiz dos povos é o Senhor: dá-me o direito, Senhor, segundo a minha justiça e segundo a inocência, que há em mim.
10 The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought: and thou shalt direct the just: the searcher of hearts and reins is God.	10 Cesse a maldade dos ímpios, e sustenta o justo, ó Deus justo, que sondas os corações e as entranhas.
11 Just is my help from the Lord: who saveth the upright of heart.	11 O meu escudo é Deus, que salva os rectos de coração.
12 God is a just judge, strong and patient: is he angry every day?	12 Deus é um juiz justo, um Deus que ameaça todos os dias.
13 Except you will be converted, he will brandish his sword: he hath bent his bow and made it ready.	13 Se não se converterem, afiará a sua espada, retesará o seu arco e apontará
14 And in it he hath prepared the instruments of death, he hath made ready his arrows for them that burn.	14 e preparará para eles dardos de morte, abrasadoras tornará as suas setas.
15 Behold he hath been in labour with injustice; he hath conceived sorrow, and brought forth iniquity.	15 Eis que o (ímpio) concebeu iniquidade, está grávido de malícia e dá à luz a fraude.
16 He hath opened a pit and dug it; and he is fallen into the hole he made.	16 Abriu e aprofundou uma cova, mas caiu nessa (mesma) cova, que fez.
17 His sorrow shall be turned on his own head: and his iniquity shall comedown upon his crown.	17 Sobre a sua própria cabeça recairá a sua maldade, e sobre a sua fronte voltará a sua violência.
18 I will give glory to the Lord according to his justice: and will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.	18 Eu glorificarei o Senhor pela sua justiça, e cantarei salmos ao nome do Senhor altíssimo.
