¹ The psalm of David which he sung to the Lord for the words of Chusi the son of Jemini. [2 Kings 16.]	¹ Lamento che Davide cantò al Signore a causa delle parole di Cus, il Beniaminita.
² O Lord my God, in thee have I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.	² Signore, mio Dio, in te ho trovato rifugio:salvami da chi mi perseguita e liberami,
³ Lest at any time he seize upon my soul like a lion, while there is no one to redeem me, nor to save.	³ perché non mi sbrani come un leone,dilaniandomi senza che alcuno mi liberi.
⁴ O Lord my God, if I have done this thing, if there be iniquity in my hands:	⁴ Signore, mio Dio, se così ho agito,se c’è ingiustizia nelle mie mani,
⁵ If I have rendered to them that repaid me evils, let me deservedly fall empty before my enemies.	⁵ se ho ripagato il mio amico con il male,se ho spogliato i miei avversari senza motivo,
⁶ Let the enemy pursue my soul, and take it, and tread down my life on the earth, and bring down my glory to the dust.	⁶ il nemico mi insegua e mi raggiunga,calpesti a terra la mia vitae getti nella polvere il mio onore.
⁷ Rise up, O Lord, in thy anger: and be thou exalted in the borders of my enemies. And arise, O Lord my God, in the precept which thou hast commanded:	⁷ Sorgi, Signore, nella tua ira,àlzati contro la furia dei miei avversari,svégliati, mio Dio, emetti un giudizio!
⁸ and a congregation of people shall surround thee. And for their sakes return thou on high.	⁸ L’assemblea dei popoli ti circonda:ritorna dall’alto a dominarla!
⁹ The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me.	⁹ Il Signore giudica i popoli.Giudicami, Signore, secondo la mia giustizia,secondo l’innocenza che è in me.
¹⁰ The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought: and thou shalt direct the just: the searcher of hearts and reins is God.	¹⁰ Cessi la cattiveria dei malvagi.Rendi saldo il giusto,tu che scruti mente e cuore, o Dio giusto.
¹¹ Just is my help from the Lord: who saveth the upright of heart.	¹¹ Il mio scudo è in Dio:egli salva i retti di cuore.
¹² God is a just judge, strong and patient: is he angry every day?	¹² Dio è giudice giusto,Dio si sdegna ogni giorno.
¹³ Except you will be converted, he will brandish his sword: he hath bent his bow and made it ready.	¹³ Non torna forse ad affilare la spada,a tendere, a puntare il suo arco?
¹⁴ And in it he hath prepared the instruments of death, he hath made ready his arrows for them that burn.	¹⁴ Si prepara strumenti di morte,arroventa le sue frecce.
¹⁵ Behold he hath been in labour with injustice; he hath conceived sorrow, and brought forth iniquity.	¹⁵ Ecco, il malvagio concepisce ingiustizia,è gravido di cattiveria, partorisce menzogna.
¹⁶ He hath opened a pit and dug it; and he is fallen into the hole he made.	¹⁶ Egli scava un pozzo profondoe cade nella fossa che ha fatto;
¹⁷ His sorrow shall be turned on his own head: and his iniquity shall comedown upon his crown.	¹⁷ la sua cattiveria ricade sul suo capo,la sua violenza gli piomba sulla testa.
¹⁸ I will give glory to the Lord according to his justice: and will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.	¹⁸ Renderò grazie al Signore per la sua giustiziae canterò il nome di Dio, l’Altissimo.
