Psalms 125

1 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:	1 (Salmo graduale). Quando il Signore fe' tornare dalla cattività quelli di Sionne ci pareva di sognar dalla gioia.
2 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us	2 Allora si riempi di sorrisi la nostra bocca e la nostra lingua di giubilo. Or si dirà fra le genti: « Il Signore ha fatte grandi cose per loro ».
3 perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,	3 Sì, il Signore ha fatte grandi cose per noi, e noi siamo inondati di letizia.
4 perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.	4 Fa tornare, o Signore, i nostri prigionieri come torrente nella terra australe.
5 Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.	5 Quelli che seminano fra le lacrime mieteranno nella gioia.
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.	6 Andavan andavano piangendo mentre gettavano il loro seme, ma tornando verran con festa? portando i loro manipoli.
7 Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
