Psalms 125

1 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:	1 Cantico di Maalot. QUELLI che si confidano nel Signore, Son come il monte di Sion, il quale non può essere smosso, E che dimora in perpetuo.
2 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us	2 Come Gerusalemme è intorniata di monti, Così il Signore è intorno al suo popolo, Da ora in eterno.
3 perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,	3 Perciocchè la verga d’empietà non riposerà in perpetuo Sopra la sorte de’ giusti; Acciocchè talora i giusti non mettano le lor mani ad alcuna iniquità
4 perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.	4 O Signore, fa’ bene a’ buoni, Ed a quelli che son diritti ne’ lor cuori.
5 Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.	5 Ma, quant’è a quelli che deviano dietro alle loro obliquità, Scaccili il Signore con gli operatori d’iniquità. Pace sia sopra Israele
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.
7 Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
