1 Toi qui demeures au refuge du Très-Haut et qui te loges à l’ombre du Puissant,	1 The praise of a canticle for David. He that dwelleth in the aid of the most High, shall abide under the protection of the God of Jacob.
2 dis au Seigneur: “Tu es mon abri, mon rempart, mon Dieu en qui je me confie!”	2 He shall say to the Lord: Thou art my protector, and my refuge: my God, in him will I trust.
3 Il te fera échapper au filet du chasseur, il te protégera des démons du malheur.	3 For he hath delivered me from the snare of the hunters: and from the sharp word.
4 Il te couvrira de son plumage et tu te serreras au creux de son aile.	4 He will overshadow thee with his shoulders: and under his wings thou shalt trust.
5 Tu ne craindras pas, de nuit, la terreur, ni de jour, la flèche qui vole,	5 His truth shall compass thee with a shield: thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night.
6 ni le fléau qui s’avance dans le noir, ni la peste qui frappe en plein midi.	6 Of the arrow that flieth in the day, of the business that walketh about in the dark: of invasion, or of the noonday devil.
7 Mille, peut-être, tomberont près de toi, dix mille, rien qu’à ta droite, mais tu seras hors d’atteinte, 4c sa fidélité sera ton mur, ton bouclier.	7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand: but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Ouvre les yeux et regarde: tu verras ce qu’on rend aux méchants!	8 But thou shalt consider with thy eyes: and shalt see the reward of the wicked.
9 Mais toi, tu as le Seigneur pour refuge, tu as fait du Très-Haut ton asile.	9 Because thou, O Lord, art my hope: thou hast made the most High thy refuge.
10 Le mal ne t’atteindra pas, la plaie ne frappera pas jusqu’à toi.	10 There shall no evil come to thee: nor shall the scourge come near thy dwelling.
11 Car il donnera un ordre à ses anges, pour qu’ils t’escortent sur tous tes chemins.	11 For he hath given his angels charge over thee; to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 Dans leurs mains ils te porteront pour que ton pied ne bute pas sur la pierre.	12 In their hands they shall bear thee up: lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Tu passeras sur les fauves et les serpents, tu piétineras le jeune lion et le dragon.	13 Thou shalt walk upon the asp and the basilisk: and thou shalt trample under foot the lion and the dragon.
14 “Puisqu’il s’est lié à moi, je le délivrerai, je veux le protéger, car il a connu mon Nom.	14 Because he hoped in me I will deliver him: I will protect him because he hath known my name.
15 Qu’il m’appelle, je lui répondrai, je serai avec lui dans l’angoisse; je le sauverai, je lui donnerai la gloire.	15 He shall cry to me, and I will hear him: I am with him in tribulation, I will deliver him, and I will glorify him.
16 J’allongerai ses jours autant qu’il le désire, et je ferai qu’il voie mon salut.”	16 I will fill him with length of days; and I will shew him my salvation.
