Deuteronomio 14

LA SACRA BIBBIA	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Voi siete figli per il Signore vostro Dio. Non vi farete incisioni, né vi raderete tra gli occhi per un morto.	1 “Be sons of the Lord your God. You shall not cut yourselves, nor make yourselves bald, because of the dead.
2 Perché tu sei un popolo santo per il Signore tuo Dio, il quale ti ha scelto fra tutti i popoli che sono sulla faccia della terra, affinché sia un popolo particolarmente suo.	2 For you are a holy people, for the Lord your God. And he chose you, so that you may be a people particularly his, out of all the nations on earth.
3 Non mangerete nessuna abominazione.	3 You shall not eat the things that are unclean.
4 Questi sono gli animali che mangerete: bue, pecora, capra,	4 These are the animals which you ought to eat: the ox, and the sheep, and the goat,
5 cervo, gazzella, daino, stambecco, antilope, bufalo, camoscio;	5 the stag and the roe deer, the gazelle, the wild goat, the addax, the antelope, the giraffe.
6 mangerete ogni animale che ha lo zoccolo spaccato e diviso in due unghie, e che rumina.	6 Every beast which has a hoof divided into two parts and which also chews the cud, you shall eat.
7 Ma fra i ruminanti e tra quelli che hanno lo zoccolo spaccato e diviso, non mangerete il cammello, la lepre e l'irace, perché ruminano ma non hanno lo zoccolo spaccato. Per voi essi sono animali impuri.	7 But those which chew over again, but do not have a divided hoof, you must not eat, such as the camel, the hare, and the hyrax. Since these chew the cud, but do not have a divided the hoof, they shall be unclean to you.
8 Anche il porco che, sebbene abbia lo zoccolo spaccato, non rumina, per voi è impuro. Non mangerete le loro carni e non toccherete i loro cadaveri.	8 The pig also, since it has a divided hoof, but does not chew over again, shall be unclean. Their flesh shall not be eaten, and you shall not touch their carcasses.
9 Tra tutti gli esseri che sono nell'acqua, mangerete di tutti quelli che hanno pinne e squame;	9 These you shall eat out of all that dwells in the waters: whatever has fins and scales, you shall eat.
10 ma non mangerete nessuno di quelli che non hanno pinne né squame. Per voi essi sono impuri.	10 Whatever is without fins and scales, you shall not eat, for these are unclean.
11 Mangerete di ogni specie di uccelli puri,	11 All the clean birds, you shall eat.
12 ma non mangerete di queste specie: l'aquila, l'ossifraga, la strige,	12 You shall not eat those that are unclean: such as the eagle, and the griffin, and the osprey,
13 il nibbio e ogni specie di astori;	13 the crane, and the vulture, and the kite, according to their kind,
14 ogni specie di corvi;	14 and any kind of raven,
15 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano, tutti gli sparvieri,	15 and the ostrich, and the owl, and the gull, and the hawk, according to their kind,
16 il gufo, l'ibis, il cigno,	16 the heron, and the swan, and the ibis,
17 il pellicano, il martin pescatore, la folaga,	17 and the sea bird, the marsh hen, and the night raven,
18 la cicogna, le varie specie di aironi, l'upupa, il pipistrello.	18 the pelican and the plover, each in their kind, likewise the crested hoopoe and the bat.
19 Considererete immondi gli insetti alati: non ne mangerete.	19 And anything which crawls and also has little wings shall be unclean, and shall not be eaten.
20 Mangerete ogni volatile puro.	20 All that is clean, you shall eat.
21 Non mangerete di alcun animale che sia morto di morte naturale: lo darai al forestiero che è tra le tue porte ed egli lo mangerà, o lo venderai a uno straniero, perché tu sei un popolo santo per il Signore tuo Dio. Non farai cuocere un capretto nel latte di sua madre.	21 But whatever has died of itself, you shall not eat from it. Give it to the sojourner, who is within your gates, so that he may eat, or sell it to him. For you are the holy people of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in the milk of his mother.
22 Prenderai la decima di ogni prodotto della tua semente che cresce nei campi, ogni anno,	22 Each year, you shall separate the tithes out of all your crops which spring forth from the earth.
23 e la mangerai al cospetto del Signore tuo Dio nel luogo nel quale sceglierà di far dimorare il suo nome: la decima del tuo frumento, del tuo mosto, del tuo olio, i primogeniti del tuo bestiame grosso e minuto, affinché tu impari a temere il Signore tuo Dio ogni giorno.	23 And you shall eat these in the sight of the Lord your God, in the place which he will choose, so that his name may be invoked there: the tenth part of your grain and wine and oil, and the firstborn from the herds and your sheep. So may you learn to fear the Lord your God at all times.
24 Se troppo lungo è per te il cammino e tu non puoi trasportare la decima, perché è troppo distante da te il luogo dove il Signore tuo Dio ha scelto di porre il suo nome, perché il Signore tuo Dio ti avrà benedetto,	24 But when the way and the place which the Lord your God will have chosen is further away, and he will have blessed you, so that you are not able to carry all these things to it,
25 la cambierai in denaro, stringerai il denaro nella mano e andrai al luogo scelto dal Signore tuo Dio	25 you shall sell them all, so as to turn them into money, and you shall carry it in your hand, and you shall set out for the place which the Lord will choose.
26 e là cambierai il denaro in tutto ciò che tu desideri: in bestiame grosso o minuto, in vino, in bevanda inebriante e in quanto richiede la tua gola, lo mangerai là al cospetto del Signore tuo Dio e ti rallegrerai tu e la tua casa.	26 And you shall buy with the same money whatever pleases you, either from the herds or from the sheep, and also wine and liquor, and all that your soul desires. And you shall eat in the sight of the Lord your God, and you shall feast: you and your household.
27 Il levita che è fra le tue porte non lo trascurare, perché non ha né parte né eredità con te.	27 As for the Levite, who is within your gates, take care that you do not abandon him, for he has no other portion within your possession.
28 Al termine di tre anni porterai ogni decima dei tuoi prodotti e la deporrai alle porte della tua città:	28 In the third year, you shall separate another tenth part of all the things which spring forth for you at that time, and you shall store it within your gates.
29 verranno il levita, che non ha né parte né eredità con te, il forestiero, l'orfano e la vedova che si trovano entro le tue porte, ne mangeranno e si sazieranno. Perché il Signore tuo Dio ti benedica in ogni opera delle tue mani, che tu farai.	29 And the Levite, who has no other portion or possession with you, and the sojourner as well as the orphan and the widow who are within your gates, shall approach and eat and be satisfied, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the works of your hands which you shall do.”
