Psalms 93

1 A Psalm of David himself. The Fourth Sabbath. The Lord is the God of retribution. The God of retribution acts in order to deliver.	1 Iddio è Signore delle vendette; Iddio delle vendette ha operato liberamente.
2 Lift yourself up, for you judge the earth. Repay the arrogant with retribution.	2 Lèvati, il quale giudichi la terra; rendi la retribuzione alli superbi.
3 How long will sinners, O Lord, how long will sinners glory?	3 Insino quando li peccatori, o Signore, insino quando li peccatori si gloriaranno?
4 How long will they utter and speak iniquity? How long will all who work injustice speak out?	4 Pensaranno, e parlaranno la iniquità, parlaranno tutti gli operanti la ingiustizia?
5 They have humiliated your people, O Lord, and they have harassed your inheritance.	5 Hanno, Signore, umiliato il tuo popolo; hanno molestato la tua eredità.
6 They have executed the widow and the new arrival, and they have slaughtered the orphan.	6 Hanno ammazzata la vedova e il forestiero; hanno uccisi li pupilli.
7 And they have said, “The Lord will not see, nor will the God of Jacob understand.”	7 E dissero: non ci vederà il Signore, e non intenderà il Dio di Iacob.
8 Understand, you senseless ones among the people. And be wise at last, you foolish ones.	8 Voi insipienti nel popolo, intendiate; e voi pazzi, alcuna volta sappiate.
9 He who formed the ear, will he not hear? And he who forged the eye, does he not look closely?	9 Colui che ha piantata l'orecchia, non udirà? ovver chi firmò l'occhio, non considera?
10 He who chastises nations, he who teaches man knowledge, will he not rebuke?	10 Chi castiga la gente, non riprenderà; chi insegna [al] l' uomo la scienza?
11 The Lord knows the thoughts of men: that these are in vain.	11 Il Signore sa che gli pensieri delli uomini sono vani.
12 Blessed is the man whom you will instruct, O Lord. And you will teach him from your law.	12 Beato l'uomo che tu, Signore, averai ammaestrato, e insegnato la legge tua,
13 So may you soothe him from the evil days, until a pit may be dug for sinners.	13 acciò che porti pazientemente li giorni mali, insino tanto che sie cavata la fossa al peccatore.
14 For the Lord will not drive away his people, and he will not abandon his inheritance,	14 Però che il Signore non moverà il suo popolo, e non abbandonerà la sua eredità,
15 even until the time when justice is being converted into judgment, and when those who are close to justice are all those who are upright of heart.	15 insino tanto che si converta la giustizia nel giudicio; e tutti quelli che sono appresso di quella, che son dritti di cuore.
16 Who will rise up with me against the malignant? Or who will stand with me against the workers of iniquity?	16 Chi si leverà meco contra li malignanti? ovver chi starà meco contra gli operanti la iniquità?
17 Except that the Lord assisted me, my soul almost would have dwelt in Hell.	17 Però che se il Signore non mi avesse aiutato, l'anima mia averia abitato nell' inferno.
18 If ever I said, “My foot is slipping,” then your mercy, O Lord, assisted me.	18 Se diceva: mosso è il mio piede, adiuvava me, Signore, la tua misericordia.
19 According to the multitude of my sorrows in my heart, your consolations have given joy to my soul.	19 Secondo molti miei dolori, che erano nel mio cuore, le tue consolazioni letificorono l'anima mia.
20 Does the seat of iniquity adhere to you, you who contrive hardship within a commandment?	20 Adunque accosterassi a te la sedia della iniquità, il quale nel comandamento fingi la fatica?
21 They will hunt down the soul of the just, and they will condemn innocent blood.	21 Con avidità desiderano l'anima del giusto; e condanneranno il sangue innocente.
22 And the Lord has been made into a refuge for me, and my God into the assistance of my hope.	22 E il Signore è fatto a me rifugio, e il mio Iddio in adiutorio della mia speranza.
23 And he will repay them their iniquity, and he will destroy them in their malice. The Lord our God will utterly destroy them.	23 E a quelli renderà loro iniquità; dispergeralli nella loro malizia; dispergeralli il Signore Iddio nostro.
