1 Now these are the priests and the Levites who ascended with Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,	1 Questi sono i sacerdoti e i leviti che sono tornati con Zorobabèle figlio di Sealtiel, e con Giosuè: Seraia, Geremia, Esdra,

7 These were the leaders of the priests and of their brothers, in the days of Jeshua.	7 Sallu, Amok, Chelkia, Iedaia. Questi erano i capi dei sacerdoti e dei loro fratelli al tempo di Giosuè.
8 And the Levites, Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah, they and their brothers were over the hymns,	8 Leviti: Giosuè, Binnui, Kadmiel, Serebia, Giuda, Mattania, che con i suoi fratelli era preposto al canto degli inni di lode.

22 The Levites, in the days of Eliashib, and Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, and the priests, were written according to the leaders of the families, during the reign of Darius the Persian.	22 I leviti furono registrati, quanto ai capi casato, al tempo di Eliasìb, di Ioiadà, di Giovanni e di Iaddua; e i sacerdoti sotto il regno di Dario, il Persiano.
23 The sons of Levi, according to the leaders of the families, were written in the book of the words of those days, even to the days of Johanan, the son of Eliashib.	23 I capi dei casati levitici sono registrati nel libro delle Cronache fino al tempo di Giovanni, figlio di Eliasìb.
24 Now the leaders of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua, the son of Kadmiel, and their brothers, in their turns, so that they would praise and confess, according to the precept of David, the man of God. And they served equally and in order.	24 I capi dei leviti Casabià, Serebia, Giosuè, figlio di Kadmiel, insieme con i loro fratelli, che stavano di fronte a loro, dovevano cantare inni e lodi a turni alternati, secondo l'ordine di Davide, uomo di Dio.
25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were keepers of the gates and of the vestibules before the gates.	25 Mattania, Bakbukia, Abdia, Mesullàm, Talmon, Akkub erano portieri e facevano la guardia ai magazzini delle porte.
26 These were in the days of Joiakim, the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah, the governor, and of Ezra, the priest and scribe.	26 Questi vivevano al tempo di Ioiachìm figlio di Giosuè, figlio di Iozadàk e al tempo di Neemia il governatore e di Esdra sacerdote e scriba.
27 Now at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites from all their places, so that they might bring them to Jerusalem, and so that they might keep the dedication, and rejoice with thanksgiving, and with singing, and with cymbals, psalteries, and lyres.	27 Per la dedicazione delle mura di Gerusalemme si mandarono a cercare i leviti da tutti i luoghi dove si trovavano, per farli venire a Gerusalemme, perché la dedicazione si celebrasse con gioia, con inni e cantici e suono di cembali, saltéri e cetre.
28 Now the sons of the singing men were gathered from the plains surrounding Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophati,	28 Gli appartenenti al corpo dei cantori si radunarono dal distretto intorno a Gerusalemme, dai villaggi dei Netofatiti,

30 And the priests and the Levites were cleansed, and they cleansed the people, and the gates, and the wall.	30 I sacerdoti e i leviti si purificarono e purificarono il popolo, le porte e le mura.
31 Then I caused the leaders of Judah to ascend the wall, and I appointed two great choirs to give praise. And they went to the right upon the wall, toward the dung gate.	31 Allora io feci salire sulle mura i capi di Giuda e formai due grandi cori. 35 And his brothers, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, and Hanani, went forth with the canticles of David, the man of God. 36 And opposite them, they ascended by the steps of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall above the house of David, and as far as the water gate to the east.	36 e i suoi fratelli Semaia, Azareèl, Milalài, Ghilalài, Maài, Netaneèl, Giuda, Canàni, con gli strumenti musicali di Davide, uomo di Dio; Esdra lo scriba camminava alla loro testa.

38 and above the gate of Ephraim, and above the ancient gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hamath, and as far as the flock gate. And they stood still at the watch gate.	38 Il secondo coro si incamminò a sinistra e io lo seguivo, con l'altra metà del popolo, sopra le mura. 42 And on that day, they immolated great sacrifices, and they rejoiced. For God had caused them to rejoice with great joy. And their wives and children also were glad. 43 On that day also, they enrolled men over the storehouses of the treasury, for the libations, and for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, so that the leaders of the city might bring these in, by them, with proper thanksgiving, for the priests and the Levites. For Judah was rejoicing in the priests and the Levites who were assisting.	43 In quel giorno il popolo offrì numerosi sacrifici e si allietò, perché Dio gli aveva concesso una grande gioia. Anche le donne e i fanciulli si rallegrarono e la gioia di Gerusalemme si sentiva di lontano.
44 And they kept the vigil of their God, and the vigil of expiation, with the singing men and the gatekeepers, in accord with the precept of David, and of Solomon, his son.	44 In quel tempo, alcuni uomini furono preposti alle stanze che servivano da magazzini delle offerte, delle primizie, delle decime, perché vi raccogliessero dalle campagne dipendenti dalla città le parti assegnate dalla legge ai sacerdoti e ai leviti; perché i Giudei gioivano vedendo i sacerdoti e i leviti ai loro posti.
45 For in the days of David and Asaph, from the beginning, there were leaders appointed over the singers, to give praise in verses, and to confess to God.	45 Questi osservavano ciò che si riferiva al servizio del loro Dio e alle purificazioni; come facevano, dal canto loro, i cantori e i portieri, secondo l'ordine di Davide e di Salomone suo figlio.
46 And all of Israel, in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave portions to the singing men and to the gatekeepers, for each day, and they sanctified the Levites, and the Levites sanctified the sons of Aaron.	46 Poiché già anticamente, al tempo di Davide e di Asaf, vi erano capi cantori e venivano innalzati canti di lode e di ringraziamento a Dio.
	47 Tutto Israele, al tempo di Zorobabele e di Neemia, dava ogni giorno le porzioni assegnate ai cantori e ai portieri; dava ai leviti le cose consacrate e i leviti davano ai figli di Aronne le cose consacrate che loro spettavano.
