1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.	1 Noé fiainak, Szem, Kám és Jáfetnek, nemzetsége a következő: fiaik születtek ugyanis a vízözön után.

3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.	3 Gómer fiai pedig: Askenáz, Rifát és Togorma. –
4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.	4 Jáván fiai pedig: Elisa, Tarzis, Kittím és Rodáním.
5 The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations.	5 Ezekből különültek el a nemzetek szigetei, országaik szerint, mindegyik a maga nyelve, családja és nemzete szerint.
6 And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.	6 Kám fiai pedig: Kús, Micrajim, Pút és Kánaán. –

8 And then Cush conceived Nimrod; he began to be powerful on the earth.	8 Kús nemzette még Nimródot: ő volt az első uralkodó a földön.
9 And he was an able hunter before the Lord. From this, a proverb came forth: ‘Just like Nimrod, an able hunter before the Lord.’	9 Erős vadász is volt az Úr előtt, azért vált közmondássá: »Mint Nimród, olyan erős vadász az Úr előtt.«
10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.	10 Birodalmának kezdete volt: Babilon, Erek, Akkád és Kálne, Sineár földjén.

21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.	21 Szemtől, Héber valamennyi fiának atyjától, Jáfet bátyjától is születtek fiak.
22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.	22 Szem fiai: Élám, Asszúr, Arfaxád, Lúd és Arám. –
23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.	23 Arám fiai: Úc, Húl, Geter és Mes.
24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.	24 Arfaxád Selahot nemzette, ettől Héber származott,

30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.	30 Lakóhelyük Mésából haladva Szefárig, a keleti hegységig terjedt.
31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.	31 Ezek Szem fiai, nemzetségeik, nyelveik, országaik és nemzeteik szerint.
32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.	32 Ezek Noé fiainak nemzetségei, népeik és nemzeteik szerint; ezekből különültek el a nemzetek a földön a vízözön után.
