1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.	1 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge nach den Söhnen Noachs, Sem, Ham und Jafet. Ihnen wurden nach der Flut Söhne geboren.
2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.	2 Die Söhne Jafets sind Gomer, Magog, Madai, Jawan, Tubal, Meschech und Tiras.
3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.	3 Die Söhne Gomers sind Aschkenas, Rifat und Togarma.
4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.	4 Die Söhne Jawans sind Elischa, Tarschisch, die Kittäer und die Rodaniter.

8 And then Cush conceived Nimrod; he began to be powerful on the earth.	8 Kusch zeugte Nimrod; dieser wurde der erste Held auf der Erde.
9 And he was an able hunter before the Lord. From this, a proverb came forth: ‘Just like Nimrod, an able hunter before the Lord.’	9 Er war ein tüchtiger Jäger vor dem Herrn. Deshalb pflegt man zu sagen: Ein tüchtiger Jäger vor dem Herrn wie Nimrod.
10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.	10 Kerngebiet seines Reiches war Babel, Erech, Akkad und Kalne im Land Schinar.
11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah,	11 Von diesem Land zog er nach Assur aus und erbaute Ninive, Rehobot-Ir, Kelach

21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.	21 Auch Sem wurden Kinder geboren. Er ist der Stammvater aller Söhne Ebers, der ältere Bruder Jafets.
22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.	22 Die Söhne Sems sind Elam, Assur, Arpachschad, Lud und Aram.
23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.	23 Die Söhne Arams sind Uz, Hul, Geter und Masch.
24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.	24 Arpachschad zeugte Schelach, Schelach zeugte Eber.
25 And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth became divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.	25 Dem Eber wurden zwei Söhne geboren; der eine hieß Peleg (Teilung), denn zu seiner Zeit wurde das Land geteilt, und sein Bruder hieß Joktan.
26 This Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, Jerah	26 Joktan zeugte Almodad, Schelef, Hazarmawet, Jerach,
27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah,	27 Hadoram, Usal, Dikla,
28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba	28 Obal, Abimaël, Scheba,
29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.	29 Ofir, Hawila und Jobab. Das alles sind Söhne Joktans.
30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.	30 Ihr Siedlungsgebiet reichte von Mescha, wenn man über Sefar kommt, bis ans Ostgebirge.
31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.	31 Das waren die Söhne Sems nach ihren Sippenverbänden, nach ihren Sprachen in ihren Ländern, nach ihren Völkern.
32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.	32 Das waren die Sippenverbände der Söhne Noachs nach ihrer Geschlechterfolge in ihren Völkern. Von ihnen zweigten sich nach der Flut die Völker der Erde ab.
