1 [Dem Chorleiter. Psalm Davids. Ein Lied.]	1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song. Praise is due to thee, O God, in Zion; and to thee shall vows be performed,
2 Dir gebührt Lobpreis, o Gott, in Sion; dir erfüllt man Gelöbnisse.	2 O thou who hearest prayer! To thee shall all flesh come
3 Du erhörst die Gebete. Zu dir kommt alles Volk mit seiner Sündenlast.	3 on account of sins. When our transgressions prevail over us, thou dost forgive them.
4 Sind unsere Vergehen zu schwer für uns, so vergibst du sie.	4 Blessed is he whom thou dost choose and bring near, to dwell in thy courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, thy holy temple!
5 Glücklich, wen du auserwählst und zu dir rufst, daß er in deinen Höfen wohne! Wir wollen uns am Segen deines Hauses laben, deines heiligen Tempels!	5 By dread deeds thou dost answer us with deliverance, O God of our salvation, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of the farthest seas;
6 Mit furchtgebietenden Taten erhörst du uns voll Güte, Gott unseres Heiles, du Hoffnung aller Enden der Erde und der entlegensten Inseln!	6 who by thy strength hast established the mountains, being girded with might;
7 Du hast die Berge hingestellt durch deine Kraft, mit Stärke dich umgürtet.	7 who dost still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples;
8 Du stillst das Brausen der Meere, das Brausen ihrer Wogen und das Tosen der Völker.	8 so that those who dwell at earth's farthest bounds are afraid at thy signs; thou makest the outgoings of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.
9 Ehrfurcht erfüllt die Bewohner der äußersten Grenzen vor deinen Zeichen, Morgen- und Abendland bringst du zum Jubeln.	9 Thou visitest the earth and waterest it, thou greatly enrichest it; the river of God is full of water; thou providest their grain, for so thou hast prepared it.
10 Du hast die Erde aufgesucht, sie überflutet und überreich getränkt. Mit Wasser ist gefüllt der Gottesbach. Ihr Korn bereitest du den Menschen. Ja, so bereitest du die Erde:	10 Thou waterest its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth.
11 Du bewässerst ihre Furchen, ebnest ihre Schollen, machst sie weich mit Regenschauern, segnest ihr Gewächs.	11 Thou crownest the year with thy bounty; the tracks of thy chariot drip with fatness.
12 Du krönst das Jahr mit deiner guten Gabe, deine Pfade triefen von Üppigkeit.	12 The pastures of the wilderness drip, the hills gird themselves with joy,
13 Es triefen die Auen der Steppe, mit Jubel die Höhen sich gürten.	13 the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.
14 Die Anger sind mit Herden bekleidet, die Täler in Korn gehüllt. Sie jauchzen sich zu und singen.
