¹ [Dem Chorleiter. Psalm Davids. Ein Lied.]	¹ To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song. Praise is due to thee, O God, in Zion; and to thee shall vows be performed,
² Dir gebührt Lobpreis, o Gott, in Sion; dir erfüllt man Gelöbnisse.	² O thou who hearest prayer! To thee shall all flesh come
³ Du erhörst die Gebete. Zu dir kommt alles Volk mit seiner Sündenlast.	³ on account of sins. When our transgressions prevail over us, thou dost forgive them.
⁴ Sind unsere Vergehen zu schwer für uns, so vergibst du sie.	⁴ Blessed is he whom thou dost choose and bring near, to dwell in thy courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, thy holy temple!
⁵ Glücklich, wen du auserwählst und zu dir rufst, daß er in deinen Höfen wohne! Wir wollen uns am Segen deines Hauses laben, deines heiligen Tempels!	⁵ By dread deeds thou dost answer us with deliverance, O God of our salvation, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of the farthest seas;
⁶ Mit furchtgebietenden Taten erhörst du uns voll Güte, Gott unseres Heiles, du Hoffnung aller Enden der Erde und der entlegensten Inseln!	⁶ who by thy strength hast established the mountains, being girded with might;
⁷ Du hast die Berge hingestellt durch deine Kraft, mit Stärke dich umgürtet.	⁷ who dost still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples;
⁸ Du stillst das Brausen der Meere, das Brausen ihrer Wogen und das Tosen der Völker.	⁸ so that those who dwell at earth's farthest bounds are afraid at thy signs; thou makest the outgoings of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.
⁹ Ehrfurcht erfüllt die Bewohner der äußersten Grenzen vor deinen Zeichen, Morgen- und Abendland bringst du zum Jubeln.	⁹ Thou visitest the earth and waterest it, thou greatly enrichest it; the river of God is full of water; thou providest their grain, for so thou hast prepared it.
¹⁰ Du hast die Erde aufgesucht, sie überflutet und überreich getränkt. Mit Wasser ist gefüllt der Gottesbach. Ihr Korn bereitest du den Menschen. Ja, so bereitest du die Erde:	¹⁰ Thou waterest its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth.
¹¹ Du bewässerst ihre Furchen, ebnest ihre Schollen, machst sie weich mit Regenschauern, segnest ihr Gewächs.	¹¹ Thou crownest the year with thy bounty; the tracks of thy chariot drip with fatness.
¹² Du krönst das Jahr mit deiner guten Gabe, deine Pfade triefen von Üppigkeit.	¹² The pastures of the wilderness drip, the hills gird themselves with joy,
¹³ Es triefen die Auen der Steppe, mit Jubel die Höhen sich gürten.	¹³ the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.
¹⁴ Die Anger sind mit Herden bekleidet, die Täler in Korn gehüllt. Sie jauchzen sich zu und singen.
