1 [Ein Wallfahrtslied.] Oft haben sie mich bedrängt von Jugend an, so spreche Israel,	1 Blessed are all they that fear the Lord: that walk in his ways.
2 oft haben sie mich bedrängt von Jugend an; doch sie konnten mich nicht bezwingen.	2 For thou shalt eat the labours of thy hands: blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee.
3 Auf dem Rücken pflügten mir Pflüger, zogen ihre langen Furchen.	3 Thy wife as a fruitful vine, on the sides of thy house.
4 Der Herr ist gerecht! Er zerschnitt die Stricke der Frevler.	4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.
5 Beschämt weichen alle zurück, die Sion hassen!	5 May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
6 Sie gleichen dem Gras auf den Dächern, das schon dürr ist, bevor man es ausreißt.	6 And mayest thou see thy children's children, peace upon Israel.
7 Kein Schnitter kann sich die Hand damit füllen, kein Garbenbinder den Mantel.
8 Wer vorübergeht, ruft nicht aus: "Der Segen des Herrn über euch! Wir beglückwünschen euch im Namen des Herrn!"
