1 In seinen Tagen zog Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, heran. Jojakim war ihm drei Jahre lang unterwürfig. Dann fiel er wieder von ihm ab.	1 In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years; then he turned and rebelled against him.
2 Da entsandte der Herr gegen ihn die Streitscharen der Kaldäer, Aramäer, Moabiter und der Ammoniter. Er ließ sie in Juda einfallen, um es zu verheeren gemäß dem Wort, das der Herr durch seine Knechte, die Propheten, gesprochen hatte.	2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the Ammonites, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD which he spoke by his servants the prophets.
3 Nur auf Geheiß des Herrn kam diese Drangsal über Juda, um es von seinem Antlitz zu entfernen, wegen der Sünden Manasses, nach all dem, was er getan hatte.	3 Surely this came upon Judah at the command of the LORD, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done,
4 Auch wegen des unschuldigen Blutes, das er vergossen, und weil er Jerusalem mit schuldlosem Blute angefüllt hatte, wollte ihm der Herr nicht mehr vergeben.	4 and also for the innocent blood that he had shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the LORD would not pardon.
5 Die übrigen Taten Jojakims und alles, was er getan hat, sind aufgeschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Juda.	5 Now the rest of the deeds of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
6 Jojakim entschlief zu seinen Vätern, und sein Sohn Jojachin folgte ihm in der Königsherrschaft.	6 So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
7 Der König von Ägypten unternahm keinen Feldzug mehr von seinem Land aus; denn der König von Babel hatte vom Bach Ägyptens bis zum Euphratstrom alles erobert, was dem König von Ägypten gehört hatte.	7 And the king of Egypt did not come again out of his land, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt from the Brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates.
8 Jojachin war achtzehn Jahre alt, als er König wurde. Er regierte drei Monate in Jerusalem. Der Name seiner Mutter war Nechuschta; sie war die Tochter Elnatans aus Jerusalem.	8 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
9 Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, ganz wie sein Vater.	9 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.
10 In jener Zeit zogen die Soldaten Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, gegen Jerusalem, und die Stadt wurde belagert.	10 At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
11 Dann rückte der Babylonierkönig Nebukadnezar selbst gegen die Stadt heran, während seine Kriegsknechte sie belagerten.	11 And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city, while his servants were besieging it;
12 Da ging Jojachin, der König von Juda, hinaus zum König von Babel zusammen mit seiner Mutter, seinen Dienern, seinen Obersten und Hofbeamten. Der König von Babel nahm im achten Jahr seiner Regierung ihn gefangen.	12 and Jehoiachin the king of Judah gave himself up to the king of Babylon, himself, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his palace officials. The king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his reign,
13 Auch ließ er von dort alle Schätze des Tempels und die Schätze des königlichen Palastes fortschaffen und alle goldenen Geräte zerschlagen, die der König Salomo von Israel für den Tempel des Herrn verfertigt hatte. Das entsprach dem Drohwort des Herrn.	13 and carried off all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold in the temple of the LORD, which Solomon king of Israel had made, as the LORD had foretold.
14 Ganz Jerusalem führte er in die Gefangenschaft, und zwar alle vornehmen und wehrtüchtigen Männer, zehntausend Gefangene, auch alle Schmiede und Schlosser; nur die geringen Leute unter den Bürgern des Landes blieben zurück.	14 He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths; none remained, except the poorest people of the land.
15 Den Jojachin führte er gefangen nach Babel; auch die Mutter des Königs, die königlichen Frauen und Hofbeamten sowie alle Adeligen des Landes brachte er von Jerusalem nach Babel in die Gefangenschaft,	15 And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon; the king's mother, the king's wives, his officials, and the chief men of the land, he took into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16 dazu alle Wehrfähigen, siebentausend Mann, die Schmiede und die Schlosser, tausend an der Zahl, lauter kriegstüchtige Männer. Sie alle führte der Babylonierkönig in die Gefangenschaft nach Babel.	16 And the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon all the men of valor, seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, one thousand, all of them strong and fit for war.
17 Dann setzte der König von Babel den Mattanja, den Oheim Jojachins, an dessen Statt in die Königsherrschaft ein und änderte seinen Namen in Zidkia.	17 And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin's uncle, king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
18 Einundzwanzig Jahre war Zidkia alt, als er König wurde, und elf Jahre regierte er in Jerusalem. Der Name seiner Mutter war Chamutal; sie war die Tochter des Jirmejahu aus Libna.	18 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
19 Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, ganz so wie Jojakim getan hatte.	19 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
20 Wegen des Zornes des Herrn brach über Jerusalem und Juda das Unheil herein, bis er sie von seinem Angesicht verstieß. Zidkia empörte sich gegen den König von Babel.	20 For because of the anger of the LORD it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
