Jeremiah 25

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah (the first year of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon).	1 Das Wort über das ganze Volk von Juda, das an Jeremia erging im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Joschijas, des Königs von Juda; es war das erste Jahr Nebukadnezzars, des Königs von Babel.
2 This word the prophet Jeremiah spoke to all the people of Judah and all the citizens of Jerusalem:	2 Der Prophet Jeremia richtete es an das ganze Volk von Juda und an alle Einwohner Jerusalems; er sagte:
3 Since the thirteenth year of Josiah, son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day-these three and twenty years-the word of the LORD has come to me and I spoke to you untiringly, but you would not listen.	3 Seit dem dreizehnten Jahr Joschijas, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, bis zum heutigen Tag, also dreiundzwanzig Jahre lang, ist an mich das Wort des Herrn ergangen und ich habe es euch unermüdlich weitergegeben. [Ihr aber habt nicht gehört.
4 Though you refused to listen or pay heed, the LORD has sent you without fail all his servants the prophets	4 Der Herr hat immer wieder alle seine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt. Ihr aber habt nicht gehört und euer Ohr nicht geneigt, um zu hören.]
5 with this message: Turn back, each of you, from your evil way and from your evil deeds; then you shall remain in the land which the LORD gave you and your fathers, from of old and forever.	5 Ich sagte: Kehrt doch alle um von eurem schlechten Weg und von euren bösen Taten; dann dürft ihr in dem Land bleiben, das der Herr euch und euren Vätern gegeben hat seit jeher und für immer.
6 Do not follow strange gods to serve and adore them, lest you provoke me with your handiwork, and I bring evil upon you.	6 [Lauft nicht anderen Göttern nach, um ihnen zu dienen und sie anzubeten, und erzürnt mich nicht durch das Werk eurer Hände, damit ich euch nicht Schlimmes antun muss.]
7 But you would not listen to me, says the LORD, and so you provoked me with your handiwork to your own harm.	7 Aber ihr habt nicht auf mich gehört [- Spruch des Herrn -, um mich zu erzürnen durch das Werk eurer Hände, zu eurem eigenen Schaden].
8 Hence, thus says the LORD of hosts: Since you would not listen to my words,	8 Darum - so spricht der Herr der Heere: Weil ihr auf meine Worte nicht gehört habt,
9 lo! I will send for and fetch all the tribes of the north, says the LORD (and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, my servant); I will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against all these neighboring nations. I will doom them, making them an object of horror, of ridicule, of everlasting reproach.	9 darum hole ich alle Stämme des Nordens herbei - Spruch des Herrn -, auch Nebukadnezzar, den König von Babel, meinen Knecht. Ich lasse sie über dieses Land und seine Bewohner kommen und über alle diese Völker ringsum. Ich weihe sie dem Untergang und mache sie zu einem Bild des Entsetzens, zum Gespött und zur dauernden Schmach.
10 Among them I will bring to an end the song of joy and the song of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstone and the light of the lamp.	10 Ich lasse bei ihnen aufhören den Jubelruf und den Freudenruf, den Ruf des Bräutigams und den Ruf der Braut, das Geräusch der Handmühle und das Licht der Lampe.
11 This whole land shall be a ruin and a desert. Seventy years these nations shall be enslaved to the king of Babylon;	11 Dieses ganze Land wird zum Trümmerfeld und zu einem Bild des Entsetzens und diese Völker werden dem König von Babel siebzig Jahre lang dienen.
12 but when the seventy years have elapsed, I will punish the king of Babylon and the nation and the land of the Chaldeans for their guilt, says the LORD. Their land I will turn into everlasting desert.	12 Sind aber die siebzig Jahre vorüber, dann ziehe ich den König von Babel und jenes Volk zur Rechenschaft für ihre Schuld - Spruch des Herrn - und auch das Land der Chaldäer, indem ich es für immer zur schaurigen Wüste mache.
13 Against that land I will fulfill all the words I have spoken against it (all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah prophesied against all the nations).	13 Ich lasse über jenes Land all das kommen, was ich ihm angedroht habe, alles, was in diesem Buch aufgezeichnet ist [was Jeremia über alle Völker geweissagt hat].
14 They also shall be enslaved to great nations and mighty kings, and thus I will repay them according to their own deeds and according to their own handiwork.	14 Denn auch sie werden mächtigen Völkern und großen Königen dienen müssen. So vergelte ich ihnen entsprechend ihren Taten und dem Tun ihrer Hände.
15 For thus said the LORD, the God of Israel, to me: Take this cup of foaming wine from my hand, and have all the nations to whom I will send you drink it.	15 Ja, so hat der Herr, der Gott Israels, zu mir gesprochen: Nimm diesen Becher voll Zornwein aus meiner Hand und gib ihn allen Völkern zu trinken, zu denen ich dich sende.
16 They shall drink, and be convulsed, and go mad, because of the sword I will send among them.	16 Trinken sollen sie, taumeln und torkeln vor dem Schwert, das ich unter sie schicke.
17 I took the cup from the hand of the LORD and gave drink to all the nations to which the LORD sent me:	17 Da nahm ich den Becher aus der Hand des Herrn und ließ alle Völker trinken, zu denen der Herr mich sandte:
18 (Jerusalem, the cities of Judah, her kings and her princes, to make them a ruin and a desert, an object of ridicule and cursing, as they are today;)	18 Jerusalem und die Städte Judas - samt seinen Königen und Fürsten -, um sie zu Trümmerhaufen zu machen, zu einem Bild des Entsetzens, zum Gespött und zum Fluch [wie es heute ist],
19 Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and his servants, his princes, all the people under him, native	19 den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, samt seinen Höflingen und Fürsten und seinem ganzen Volk,
20 and foreign; all the kings of the land of Uz; all the kings of the land of the Philistines: Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;	20 das gesamte Völkergemisch, alle Könige des Landes Uz, alle Könige des Philisterlandes, (die Städte) Aschkelon, Gaza, Ekron und den Rest von Aschdod,
21 Edom, Moab, and the Ammonites;	21 Edom, Moab und die Ammoniter,
22 all the kings of Tyre, of Sidon, and of the shores beyond the sea;	22 alle Könige von Tyrus, alle Könige von Sidon sowie die Könige der Inseln jenseits des Meeres,
23 Dedan and Tema and Buz, all the desert dwellers who shave their temples;	23 Dedan, Tema, Bus und alle mit gestutztem Haar,
24 (all the kings of Arabia;)	24 alle Könige Arabiens und alle Könige des Völkergemisches, die in der Wüste wohnen,
25 all the kings of Zimri, of Elam, of the Medes;	25 alle Könige von Simri, von Elam und Medien,
26 all the kings of the north, near and far, one after the other; all the kingdoms upon the face of the earth (and after them the king of Sheshach shall drink).	26 auch alle Könige des Nordens, die in der Nähe und die in der Ferne, einen nach dem andern, ja, alle Reiche [der Welt], die es auf der Erde gibt; und zuletzt soll der König von Scheschach trinken.
27 Tell them: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink! become drunk and vomit; fall, never to rise, before the sword that I will send among you!	27 Sag zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr der Heere, der Gott Israels: Trinkt, berauscht euch und speit, stürzt hin und steht nicht mehr auf vor dem Schwert, das ich unter euch schicke.
28 If they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, say to them: Thus says the LORD of hosts: You must drink!	28 Weigern sie sich aber, den Becher aus deiner Hand anzunehmen und zu trinken, dann sag zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr der Heere: Trinken müsst ihr.
29 For since with this city, which is called by my name, I begin to inflict evil, how can you possibly be spared? You shall not be spared! I will call down the sword upon all who inhabit the earth, says the LORD of hosts.	29 Denn seht, bei der Stadt, über der mein Name ausgerufen ist, beginne ich mit dem Unheil und da solltet ihr ungestraft bleiben? Nein, ihr werdet nicht ungestraft bleiben; denn ich rufe das Schwert gegen alle Bewohner der Erde - Spruch des Herrn der Heere.
30 Prophesy against them all these things and say to them: The LORD roars from on high, from his holy dwelling he raises his voice; Mightily he roars over the range, a shout like that of vintagers over the grapes.	30 Du aber sollst ihnen als Prophet alle diese Worte verkünden und zu ihnen sagen: Aus der Höhe herab donnert der Herr, von seiner heiligen Wohnung her lässt er seine Stimme erschallen. Mächtig donnert er über seiner Flur und ruft wie die Keltertreter.
31 To all who inhabit the earth to its very ends the uproar spreads; For the LORD has an indictment against the nations, he is to pass judgment upon all mankind: The godless shall be given to the sword, says the LORD.	31 Zu allen Erdbewohnern dringt der Schall, ja bis ans Ende der Erde; denn der Herr hat einen Rechtsstreit mit den Völkern: Er hält Gericht über alle Sterblichen und liefert die Schuldigen dem Schwert aus - Spruch des Herrn.
32 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Lo! calamity stalks from nation to nation; A great storm is unleashed from the ends of the earth.	32 So spricht der Herr der Heere: Seht, Unheil schreitet von Volk zu Volk, ein gewaltiger Sturm bricht los von den Grenzen der Erde.
33 On that day, those whom the LORD has slain will be strewn from one end of the earth to the other. None will mourn them, none will gather them for burial; they shall lie like dung on the field.	33 Die vom Herrn Erschlagenen liegen an jenem Tag von einem Ende der Erde bis zum andern. Man beklagt sie nicht, man sammelt sie nicht und begräbt sie nicht; sie werden zum Dünger auf dem Acker.
34 Howl, you shepherds, and wail! roll in the dust, leaders of the flock! The time for your slaughter has come; like choice rams you shall fall.	34 Klagt, ihr Hirten, und schreit; wälzt euch im Staub, ihr Herren der Herde! Denn die Zeit ist gekommen, dass ihr geschlachtet werdet; ich zerschmettere euch, dass ihr berstet wie ein Prunkgefäß.
35 There is no flight for the shepherds, no escape for the leaders of the flock.	35 Es gibt keine Flucht mehr für die Hirten, kein Entrinnen für die Herren der Herde.
36 Listen! Wailing from the shepherds, howling by the leaders of the flock! For the LORD lays waste their grazing place,	36 Horcht, wie die Hirten schreien und die Herren der Herde wehklagen, weil der Herr ihre Weide verwüstet.
37 desolate lie the peaceful pastures;	37 Verdorrt sind die friedlichen Wiesen vor dem glühenden Zorn des Herrn.
38 The lion leaves his lair, and their land is made desolate By the sweeping sword, by the burning wrath of the LORD.	38 Er verlässt sein Versteck wie ein Löwe; ihr Land ist zu einem Bild des Entsetzens geworden durch sein rasendes Schwert und durch die Glut seines Zorns.
