Psalms 73

1 A psalm of Asaph. How good God is to the upright, the Lord, to those who are clean of heart!	1 Intelletto di Asaf (ovver, secondo alcuni, ammaestramenti di Asaf). Il perchè, Iddio, mi hai tu sospinto in fine; adirato è il tuo furore sopra le pecore della tua pastura?
2 I But, as for me, I lost my balance; my feet all but slipped,	2 Ricordati della tua congregazione, la qual possedesti da principio. Ricomprasti la bacchetta della [tua] eredità; il monte di Sion nel quale abitasti.
3 Because I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.	3 Leva le tue mani contra loro superbia nella fine; quanta malignità ha fatto l'inimico contra il santo!
4 For they suffer no pain; their bodies are healthy and sleek.	4 E quelli che ti hanno odiato si sono gloriati, in mezzo della tua solennità. Posero li suoi segni,
5 They are free of the burdens of life; they are not afflicted like others.	5 e non conobbero, come nell' esito sopra all'alto (tempio).
6 Thus pride adorns them as a necklace; violence clothes them as a robe.	6 E tagliorono le sue porte con le scuri, come si fa nelle selve le legne; nella scure e mannaia dissiporono quelle.
7 Out of their stupidity comes sin; evil thoughts flood their hearts.	7 Col fuoco abbruciorono il tuo santuario; in terra maculorono il tabernacolo del tuo nome.
8 They scoff and spout their malice; from on high they utter threats.	8 Dissero nel suo cuore, insieme loro parentato: facciamo cessare dalla terra tutti i giorni festivi di Dio.
9 They set their mouths against the heavens, their tongues roam the earth.	9 Non abbiamo veduti li nostri segni, già non è profeta; e più non ci conoscerà.
10 So my people turn to them and drink deeply of their words.	10 Insino quando, Iddio, improperarà l' inimico; provoca ad ira l'avversario il nome tuo in fine?
11 They say, "Does God really know?" "Does the Most High have any knowledge?"	11 Il per che rimuovi la tua mano, e la destra tua, dal tuo petto nella fine?
12 Such, then, are the wicked, always carefree, increasing their wealth.	12 Ma Iddio, nostro re inanzi il mondo, operò la salute in mezzo della terra.
13 Is it in vain that I have kept my heart clean, washed my hands in innocence?	13 Nella tua virtù confirmasti il mare; contribulasti li capi de' draconi nell' acque.
14 For I am afflicted day after day, chastised every morning.	14 Tu spezzasti il capo del dracone; (per che) destilo in cibo alli popoli di Etiopia.
15 Had I thought, "I will speak as they do," I would have betrayed your people.	15 Tu spezzasti le fontane e li torrenti; tu seccasti li fiumi di Etan.
16 Though I tried to understand all this, it was too difficult for me,	16 Tuo è il dì, e tua è la notte; tu facesti l' aurora e il sole.
17 Till I entered the sanctuary of God and came to understand their end.	17 Tu facesti tutti gli termini della terra; la estate e il verno, tu formasti quelli.
18 You set them, indeed, on a slippery road; you hurl them down to ruin.	18 Ricòrdati di questo: nemico, egli ha improperato al Signore; e il popolo insipiente ha incitato il tuo nome.
19 How suddenly they are devastated; undone by disasters forever!	19 Non dare l' anime delli tuoi confitenti alle bestie; e non ti dimenticare nella fine dell' anime de' tuoi poveri.
20 They are like a dream after waking, Lord, dismissed like shadows when you arise.	20 Risguarda nel tuo testamento; per che sono riempiuti quelli che sono oscurati della terra, nelle case della iniquità.
21 Since my heart was embittered and my soul deeply wounded,	21 Non si parta da te l'umile, fatto confuso; il povero e bisognoso lodaranno il tuo nome.
22 I was stupid and could not understand; I was like a brute beast in your presence.	22 Lèvati, Iddio, giudica la tua cagione; arricòrdati delli tuoi improperii, di quelli che sono fatti tutto il giorno dall' insipiente.
23 Yet I am always with you; you take hold of my right hand.	23 Non ti dismenticare le voci de' tuoi nemici; la superbia di quelli, che ti hanno in odio, monta sempre.
24 With your counsel you guide me, and at the end receive me with honor.
25 Whom else have I in the heavens? None beside you delights me on earth.
26 Though my flesh and my heart fail, God is the rock of my heart, my portion forever.
27 But those who are far from you perish; you destroy those unfaithful to you.
28 As for me, to be near God is my good, to make the Lord GOD my refuge. I shall declare all your works in the gates of daughter Zion.
