Psalms 73

1 A psalm of Asaph. How good God is to the upright, the Lord, to those who are clean of heart!	1 Salmo. Di Asaf.Quanto è buono Dio con gli uomini retti,Dio con i puri di cuore!
2 I But, as for me, I lost my balance; my feet all but slipped,	2 Ma io per poco non inciampavo,quasi vacillavano i miei passi,
3 Because I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.	3 perché ho invidiato i prepotenti,vedendo il successo dei malvagi.
4 For they suffer no pain; their bodies are healthy and sleek.	4 Fino alla morte infatti non hanno sofferenzee ben pasciuto è il loro ventre.
5 They are free of the burdens of life; they are not afflicted like others.	5 Non si trovano mai nell’affanno dei mortalie non sono colpiti come gli altri uomini.
6 Thus pride adorns them as a necklace; violence clothes them as a robe.	6 Dell’orgoglio si fanno una collanae indossano come abito la violenza.
7 Out of their stupidity comes sin; evil thoughts flood their hearts.	7 I loro occhi sporgono dal grasso,dal loro cuore escono follie.
8 They scoff and spout their malice; from on high they utter threats.	8 Scherniscono e parlano con malizia,parlano dall’alto con prepotenza.
9 They set their mouths against the heavens, their tongues roam the earth.	9 Aprono la loro bocca fino al cieloe la loro lingua percorre la terra.
10 So my people turn to them and drink deeply of their words.	10 Perciò il loro popolo li seguee beve la loro acqua in abbondanza.
11 They say, "Does God really know?" "Does the Most High have any knowledge?"	11 E dicono: «Dio, come può saperlo?L’Altissimo, come può conoscerlo?».
12 Such, then, are the wicked, always carefree, increasing their wealth.	12 Ecco, così sono i malvagi:sempre al sicuro, ammassano ricchezze.
13 Is it in vain that I have kept my heart clean, washed my hands in innocence?	13 Invano dunque ho conservato puro il mio cuore,e ho lavato nell’innocenza le mie mani!
14 For I am afflicted day after day, chastised every morning.	14 Perché sono colpito tutto il giornoe fin dal mattino sono castigato?
15 Had I thought, "I will speak as they do," I would have betrayed your people.	15 Se avessi detto: «Parlerò come loro»,avrei tradito la generazione dei tuoi figli.
16 Though I tried to understand all this, it was too difficult for me,	16 Riflettevo per comprendere questoma fu una fatica ai miei occhi,
17 Till I entered the sanctuary of God and came to understand their end.	17 finché non entrai nel santuario di Dioe compresi quale sarà la loro fine.
18 You set them, indeed, on a slippery road; you hurl them down to ruin.	18 Ecco, li poni in luoghi scivolosi,li fai cadere in rovina.
19 How suddenly they are devastated; undone by disasters forever!	19 Sono distrutti in un istante!Sono finiti, consumati dai terrori!
20 They are like a dream after waking, Lord, dismissed like shadows when you arise.	20 Come un sogno al risveglio, Signore,così, quando sorgi, fai svanire la loro immagine.
21 Since my heart was embittered and my soul deeply wounded,	21 Quando era amareggiato il mio cuoree i miei reni trafitti dal dolore,
22 I was stupid and could not understand; I was like a brute beast in your presence.	22 io ero insensato e non capivo,stavo davanti a te come una bestia.
23 Yet I am always with you; you take hold of my right hand.	23 Ma io sono sempre con te:tu mi hai preso per la mano destra.
24 With your counsel you guide me, and at the end receive me with honor.	24 Mi guiderai secondo i tuoi disegnie poi mi accoglierai nella gloria.
25 Whom else have I in the heavens? None beside you delights me on earth.	25 Chi avrò per me nel cielo?Con te non desidero nulla sulla terra.
26 Though my flesh and my heart fail, God is the rock of my heart, my portion forever.	26 Vengono meno la mia carne e il mio cuore;ma Dio è roccia del mio cuore,mia parte per sempre.
27 But those who are far from you perish; you destroy those unfaithful to you.	27 Ecco, si perderà chi da te si allontana;tu distruggi chiunque ti è infedele.
28 As for me, to be near God is my good, to make the Lord GOD my refuge. I shall declare all your works in the gates of daughter Zion.	28 Per me, il mio bene è stare vicino a Dio;nel Signore Dio ho posto il mio rifugio,per narrare tutte le tue opere.
