Lettera a Tito - מכתב לטיטו 6

MODERN HEBREW BIBLE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 שמעו בנים אל הוריכם באדנינו כי ארח ישר הוא	1 Children, be obedient to your parents in the Lord -- that is what uprightness demands.
2 כבד את אביך ואת אמך זאת היא המצוה הראשונה אשר לה ההבטחה	2 The first commandment that has a promise attached to it is: Honour your father and your mother,
3 למען ייטב לך ולמען יאריכן ימיך על האדמה	3 and the promise is: so that you may have long life and prosper in the land.
4 ואתם האבות אל תכעיסו את בניכם אך גדלום במוסר אדנינו ובתוכחתו	4 And parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and adviceinspired by the Lord.
5 שמעו עבדים אל אדניכם לפי הבשר ביראה ורתת ובתם לבבכם כמו למשיח	5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are, according to human reckoning, your masters, with deep respectand sincere loyalty, as you are obedient to Christ:
6 לא בעבדת מראה העין כמבקשי חן בני אדם כי אם כעבדי המשיח עשים רצון האלהים בכל נפשם	6 not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but as slaves ofChrist who wholeheartedly do the wil of God.
7 ועבדים בנפש חפצה את האדון ולא בני אדם	7 Work wil ingly for the sake of the Lord and not for the sake of human beings.
8 וידעתם כי כל דבר טוב אשר עשה האדם ישלמנו לו אדנינו אם עבד הוא או בן חורין	8 Never forget that everyone, whether a slave or a free man, wil be rewarded by the Lord for whateverwork he has done wel .
9 ואתם האדנים ככה תעשו גם להם חדלו מגער בם וידעתם כי גם עליכם יש אדון בשמים ואין לפניו משא פנים	9 And those of you who are employers, treat your slaves in the same spirit; do without threats, and neverforget that they and you have the same Master in heaven and there is no favouritism with him.
10 סוף דבר אחי חזקו באדנינו ובעז גבורתו	10 Finally, grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power.
11 לבשו כלי נשק אלהים למען תוכלו עמד נגד נכלי השטן	11 Put on the ful armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.
12 כי לא עם בשר ודם מלחמתנו כי עם שרים ושליטים עם המשלים בחשכת העולם הזה עם הרוחות הרעות אשר במרומים	12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and theruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.
13 על כן אחזו בכלי נשק אלהים למען תוכלו לקום ביום הרע ולמלא צבאכם ולעמוד	13 That is why you must take up al God's armour, or you wil not be able to put up any resistance on theevil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the ful .
14 עמדו נא חגורי מתנים באמת ומלבשים בשריון הצדק	14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,
15 ורגליכם מנעלות להיותכם מוכנים לבשורת השלום	15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace
16 ועל כל אלה תפשו את מגן האמונה אשר תוכלו לכבות בו את חצי הרשע הבערים	16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the EvilOne.
17 וקחו את כובע הישועה וחרב הרוח שהיא דבר האלהים	17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.
18 והתפללו תמיד בכל עת בתפלה ותחנונים ברוח ושקדו והתאמצו על זאת להעתיר תמיד בעד כל הקדשים	18 In al your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired ofstaying awake to pray for al God's holy people,
19 וגם בעדי למען ינתן לי הדבר בפתחי פי להגיד בבטחון את סוד הבשורה אשר אנכי ציר לה במוסרות	19 and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth and fearlessly make known the mysteryof the gospel
20 למען אדבר בה בבטחה כאשר מטל עלי לדבר	20 of which I am an ambassador in chains; pray that in proclaiming it I may speak as fearlessly as I oughtto.
21 ולמען אשר תדעו גם אתם את קרתי ואת מעשי הנה את הכל יודיע אתכם טוכיקוס האח החביב והמשרת הנאמן באדנינו	21 So that you know, as well, what is happening to me and what I am doing, my dear friend Tychicus, mytrustworthy helper in the Lord, wil tel you everything.
22 אשר לזאת שלחתיהו אליכם למען תדעו את קרתינו ולמען ינחם את לבבכם	22 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose, to give you news about us and encourage youthoroughly.
23 השלום לאחים והאהבה עם האמונה מאת האלהים האב ומאת האדון ישוע המשיח	23 May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to al the brothers.
24 החסד עם כל האהבים את אדנינו ישוע המשיח באהבה אשר לא תכלה אמן	24 May grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, in life imperishable.
