1 Dem Musikmeister, von den Korahiten (42,1), im Bass-Stimmsatz, ein Lied.	1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah For oboe Song] God is both refuge and strength for us, ahelp always ready in trouble;
2 Gott ist uns Zuflucht und Stärke,als Hilfe in Nöten wohlbewährt befunden.	2 so we shall not be afraid though the earth be in turmoil, though mountains tumble into the depths ofthe sea,
3 Darum bangen wir nicht, wenngleich die Erde vergeht,wenn Berge mitten (oder: tief) im Meer versinken;	3 and its waters roar and seethe, and the mountains totter as it heaves. (Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, ourcitadel, the God of Jacob.)Pause
4 mögen tosen, mögen schäumen seine Wogen,mögen beben die Berge von seinem Ungestüm:der HERR der Heerscharen ist mit uns,ein’ feste Burg ist uns der Gott Jakobs! SELA.	4 There is a river whose streams bring joy to God's city, it sanctifies the dwel ing of the Most High.
5 Ein Strom ist da: seine Bäche erfreuen die Gottesstadt,das Heiligtum, die Wohnung des Höchsten.	5 God is in the city, it cannot fal ; at break of day God comes to its rescue.
6 Gott ist in ihrer Mitte: sie wird nicht wanken,Gott schützt sie, schon wenn der Morgen tagt.	6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms are tumbling, when he raises his voice the earth crumbles away.
7 Völker tobten, Königreiche wankten:er ließ seinen Donner dröhnen, da zerfloß (oder: erschrak) die Erde.	7 Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the God of Jacob. Pause
8 Der HERR der Heerscharen ist mit uns,ein’ feste Burg ist uns der Gott Jakobs! SELA.	8 Come, consider the wonders of Yahweh, the astounding deeds he has done on the earth;
9 Kommt her und schauet die Taten des HERRN,der Wunderbares (oder: Entsetzen) wirket auf Erden,	9 he puts an end to wars over the whole wide world, he breaks the bow, he snaps the spear, shields heburns in the fire.
10 der den Kriegen ein Ziel setzt bis ans Ende der Erde,der Bogen zerbricht und Speere zerschlägt,Kriegswagen mit Feuer verbrennt!	10 'Be stil and acknowledge that I am God, supreme over nations, supreme over the world.'
11 »Laßt ab und erkennt, daß ich (nur) Gott bin,erhaben unter den Völkern, erhaben auf Erden!«	11 Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the God of Jacob.Pause
