1 Uram, bosszúállás Istene, bosszúállás Istene, jelenj meg!	1 God of vengeance, Yahweh, God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Kelj fel, ó föld bírája, fizess meg a kevélyeknek!	2 Arise, judge of the world, give back the proud what they deserve!
3 Meddig fognak, Uram, a bűnösök, meddig fognak még a bűnösök dicsekedni?	3 How long are the wicked, Yahweh, how long are the wicked to triumph?
4 Fecsegnek, vakmerően gonoszságot beszélnek és kérkednek mind a gonosztevők.	4 They bluster and boast, they flaunt themselves, all the evil-doers.
5 Népedet, Uram, elnyomják, örökségedet sanyargatják.	5 They crush your people, Yahweh, they oppress your heritage,
6 Meggyilkolják az özvegyet s a jövevényt, lemészárolják az árvákat.	6 they murder the widow and the stranger, bring the orphan to a violent death.
7 Azt mondják: »Nem látja ezt az Úr, Nem veszi észre Jákob Istene.«	7 They say, 'Yahweh is not looking, the God of Jacob is taking no notice.'
8 Eszméljetek, ti oktalanjai a népnek, ostobák mikor tértek észhez?	8 Take notice yourselves, you coarsest of people! Fools, when wil you learn some sense?
9 A fül plántálója ne hallana, s a szem alkotója ne látna?	9 Shal he who implanted the ear not hear, he who fashioned the eye not see?
10 Ne büntetne, aki dorgálja a népeket, aki tudományra tanítja az embert?	10 Shal he who instructs nations not punish? Yahweh, the teacher of al people,
11 Ismeri az Úr az emberek gondolatait és tudja, hogy hiábavalók.	11 knows human plans and how insipid they are.
12 Boldog az az ember, akit te oktatsz, Uram, és megtanítasz törvényedre,	12 How blessed are those you instruct, Yahweh, whom you teach by means of your law,
13 hogy megóvd őt a gonosz napoktól, amíg a bűnös számára a verem el nem készül.	13 to give them respite in evil times, til a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 Mert nem taszítja el népét az Úr, és nem hagyja el örökségét.	14 Yahweh will not abandon his people, he wil not desert his heritage;
15 Mert az ítélkezés visszatér az igazsághoz, és követik mind az igazszívűek.	15 for judgement will again become saving justice, and in its wake al upright hearts will fol ow.
16 Ki kel fel értem a gonoszok ellen, ki áll mellém a gonosztevőkkel szemben?	16 Who rises up on my side against the wicked? Who stands firm on my side against al evil-doers?
17 Ha az Úr nem nyújtott volna segítséget, már-már a némaság helyén lakoznék a lelkem.	17 If Yahweh did not come to my help, I should soon find myself dwel ing in the silence.
18 Ha azt mondtam: »Inog a lábam«, megsegített a te irgalmad, Uram.	18 I need only say, 'I am slipping,' for your faithful love, Yahweh, to support me;
19 Bármilyen sok fájdalmam volt szívemben, vigasztalásaid felvidítottak engem.	19 however great the anxiety of my heart, your consolations soothe me.
20 Lehet-e köze hozzád a hamisság ítélőszékének, amely nyomorúságot szerez a törvény ellenére?	20 Are you partner to a destructive court, that gives disorder the status of law?
21 Az igaz életére leskelődnek ők, s elítélik az ártatlan vért.	21 They make an attack on the life of the upright, and condemn innocent blood.
22 De nekem oltalmam lett az Úr, és menedékem sziklája az én Istenem;	22 No! Yahweh is a stronghold to me, my God is my rock of refuge.
23 Ő megtorolja rajtuk hamisságukat, saját gonoszságukkal semmisíti meg őket; Megsemmisíti őket az Úr, a mi Istenünk.	23 He turns back their guilt on themselves, annihilates them for their wickedness, he annihilates them,Yahweh our God.
