1 A psalm of a canticle, for the sons of Core, on the second day of the week.	1 [Ein Lied. Ein Psalm der Korachiter.]
2 Great is the Lord, and exceedingly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.	2 Groß ist der Herr und hoch zu preisen in der Stadt unsres Gottes.
3 With the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion founded, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king.	3 Sein heiliger Berg ragt herrlich empor; er ist die Freude der ganzen Welt. Der Berg Zion liegt weit im Norden; er ist die Stadt des großen Königs.
4 In her houses shall God be known, when he shall protect her.	4 Gott ist in ihren Häusern bekannt als ein sicherer Schutz.
5 For behold the kings of the earth assembled themselves: they gathered together.	5 Denn seht: Die Könige vereinten sich und zogen gemeinsam heran;
6 So they saw, and they wondered, they were troubled, they were moved:	6 doch als sie aufsahen, erstarrten sie vor Schreck, sie waren bestürzt und liefen davon.
7 trembling took hold of them. There were pains as of a woman in labour.	7 Dort packte sie das Zittern, wie die Wehen eine gebärende Frau,
8 With a vehement wind thou shalt break in pieces the ships of Tharsis.	8 wie der Sturm vom Osten, der die Schiffe von Tarschisch zerschmettert.
9 As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God hath founded it for ever.	9 Wie wir's gehört hatten, so erlebten wir's jetzt in der Stadt des Herrn der Heere, in der Stadt unsres Gottes; Gott lässt sie ewig bestehen. [Sela]
10 We have received thy mercy, O God, in the midst of thy temple.	10 Über deine Huld, o Gott, denken wir nach in deinem heiligen Tempel.
11 According to thy name, O God, so also is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of justice.	11 Wie dein Name, Gott, so reicht dein Ruhm bis an die Enden der Erde; deine rechte Hand ist voll von Gerechtigkeit.
12 Let mount Sion rejoice, and the daughters of Juda be glad; because of thy judgments, O Lord.	12 Der Berg Zion freue sich, die Töchter Judas sollen über deine gerechten Urteile jubeln.
13 Surround Sion, and encompass her: tell ye in her towers.	13 Umkreist den Zion, umschreitet ihn, zählt seine Türme!
14 Set your hearts on her strength; and distribute her houses, that ye may relate it in another generation.	14 Betrachtet seine Wälle, geht in seinen Palästen umher, damit ihr dem kommenden Geschlecht erzählen könnt:
15 For this is God, our God unto eternity, and for ever and ever: he shall rule us for evermore.	15 «Das ist Gott, unser Gott für immer und ewig. Er wird uns führen in Ewigkeit.»
