Psalms 38

1 A psalm for David, for a remembrance of the sabbath.	1 Ψαλμος του Δαβιδ εις αναμνησιν.>> Κυριε, μη με ελεγξης εν τω θυμω σου, μηδε εν τη οργη σου παιδευσης με.
2 Rebuke me not, O Lord, in thy indignation; nor chastise me in thy wrath.	2 Διοτι τα βελη σου ενεπηχθησαν εις εμε και η χειρ σου καταπιεζει με.
3 For thy arrows are fastened in me : and thy hand hath been strong upon me.	3 Δεν υπαρχει υγεια εν τη σαρκι μου εξ αιτιας της οργης σου. δεν ειναι ειρηνη εις τα οστα μου εξ αιτιας της αμαρτιας μου.
4 There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath : there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins.	4 Διοτι αι ανομιαι μου υπερεβησαν την κεφαλην μου? ως φορτιον βαρυ υπερεβαρυναν επ' εμε.
5 For my iniquities are gone over my head : and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.	5 Εβρωμησαν και εσαπησαν αι πληγαι μου εξ αιτιας της ανοησιας μου.
6 My sores are putrified and corrupted, because of my foolishness.	6 Εταλαιπωρηθην, εκυρτωθην εις ακρον? ολην την ημεραν περιπατω σκυθρωπος.
7 I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end : I walked sorrowful all the day long.	7 Διοτι τα εντοσθια μου γεμουσι φλογωσεως, και δεν υπαρχει υγεια εν τη σαρκι μου.
8 For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.	8 Ησθενησα και καθ' υπερβολην κατεκοπην? βρυχωμαι απο της αδημονιας της καρδιας μου.
9 I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly : I roared with the groaning of my heart.	9 Κυριε, ενωπιον σου ειναι πασα η επιθυμια μου, και ο στεναγμος μου δεν κρυπτεται απο σου.
10 Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hidden from thee.	10 Η καρδια μου ταραττεται, η δυναμις μου με εγκαταλειπει? και το φως των οφθαλμων μου, και αυτο δεν ειναι μετ' εμου.
11 My heart is troubled, my strength hath left me, and the light of my eyes itself is not with me.	11 Οι φιλοι μου και οι πλησιον μου στεκουσιν απεναντι της πληγης μου, και οι πλησιεστεροι μου στεκουσιν απο μακροθεν.
12 My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off :	12 Και οι ζητουντες την ψυχην μου στηνουσιν εις εμε παγιδας? και οι εκζητουντες το κακον μου λαλουσι πονηρα, και μελετωσι δολους ολην την ημεραν.
13 And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long.	13 Αλλ' εγω ως κωφος δεν ηκουον και ημην ως αφωνος, μη ανοιγων το στομα αυτου.
14 But I, as a deaf man, heard not : and as a dumb man not opening his mouth.	14 Και ημην ως ανθρωπος μη ακουων και μη εχων αντιλογιαν εν τω στοματι αυτου.
15 And I became as a man that heareth not : and that hath no reproofs in his mouth.	15 Διοτι επι σε, Κυριε, ηλπισα? συ θελεις μου εισακουσει, Κυριε ο Θεος μου.
16 For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped : thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.	16 Επειδη ειπα, Ας μη χαρωσιν επ' εμε? οταν ολισθηση ο πους μου, αυτοι μεγαλαυχουσι κατ' εμου.
17 For I said: Lest at any time my enemies rejoice over me : and whilst my feet are moved, they speak great things against me.	17 Διοτι ειμαι ετοιμος να πεσω, και ο πονος μου ειναι παντοτε εμπροσθεν μου.
18 For I am ready for scourges : and my sorrow is continually before me.	18 Επειδη εγω θελω αναγγελλει την ανομιαν μου, θελω λυπεισθαι δια την αμαρτιαν μου.
19 For I will declare my inequity : and I will think for my sin.	19 Αλλ' οι εχθροι μου ζωσιν, υπερισχυουσι? και επληθυνθησαν οι μισουντες με αδικως.
20 But my enemies live, and are stronger that I : and they hate me wrongfully are multiplied.	20 Και οι ανταποδιδοντες κακον αντι καλου ειναι εναντιοι μου, επειδη κυνηγω το καλον.
21 They that render evil for good, have detracted me, because I followed goodness.	21 Μη με εγκαταλιπης, Κυριε? Θεε μου, μη απομακρυνθης απ' εμου.
22 Forsake me not, O Lord my God : do not thou depart from me.	22 Ταχυνον εις βοηθειαν μου, Κυριε, η σωτηρια μου.
23 Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.
