I have lifted up my eyes to the mountains, from whence help shall come to me. | 1 A song of ascents. Of David. I rejoiced when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD." |
My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. | 2 And now our feet are standing within your gates, Jerusalem. |
May he not suffer thy foot to be moved: neither let him slumber that keepeth thee. | 3 Jerusalem, built as a city, walled round about. |
Behold he shall neither slumber nor sleep, that keepeth Israel. | 4 Here the tribes have come, the tribes of the LORD, As it was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD. |
The Lord is thy keeper, the Lord is thy protection upon thy right hand. | 5 Here are the thrones of justice, the thrones of the house of David. |
The sun shall not burn thee by day: nor the moon by night. | 6 For the peace of Jerusalem pray: "May those who love you prosper! |
The Lord keepeth thee from all evil: may the Lord keep thy soul. | 7 May peace be within your ramparts, prosperity within your towers." |
May the Lord keep thy going in and thy going out; from henceforth now and for ever. | 8 For family and friends I say, "May peace be yours." |
For the house of the LORD, our God, I pray, "May blessings be yours." |
