1 Salmo di David, quando mutò il suo volto dinanzi Achimelec, il qual lasciollo, e partissi.	1 Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.
2 In ogni tempo benedicerò il Signore; sempre sarà nella mia bocca la sua laude.	2 Praise the LORD with the lyre, make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
3 Nel Signore sarà laudata l'anima mia; odano i mansueti, e rallegrinsi.	3 Sing to him a new song, play skilfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
4 Magnificate il Signore meco; ed esaltiamo il. suo nome in uno.	4 For the word of the LORD is upright; and all his work is done in faithfulness.
5 Ho richiesto il Signore, e hammi esaudito, e liberato di tutte le mie tribulazioni.	5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.
6 Andate a lui, e illuminatevi; e le vostre faccie non siano confuse.	6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
7 Questo povero gridò, ed esaudillo il Signore; e salvollo di tutte le sue tribulazioni.	7 He gathered the waters of the sea as in a bottle; he put the deeps in storehouses.
8 L'angelo del Signore è dintorno a quelli che il temono; e libereralli.	8 Let all the earth fear the LORD, let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
9 Gustate, e vedete, però che il Signore è soave; beato l'uomo che in lui spera!	9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood forth.
10 Temete il Signore, voi tutti suoi santi; per che a quelli che il temono non è miseria.	10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nought; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 Li ricchi sono stati bisognosi e affamati; ma alli cercanti il Signore non si sminuirà ogni bene.	11 The counsel of the LORD stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Venite, figliuoli, uditemi; insegnerovvi il timore del Signore.	12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
13 È alcuno uomo, che vuole la vita, ama vedere i buoni dì?	13 The LORD looks down from heaven, he sees all the sons of men;
14 Vieta la tua lingua dal male, e le tue labbra perchè non parlino inganno.	14 from where he sits enthroned he looks forth on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 Ritraiti dal male, e fa bene; cerca la pace, e sèguita quella.	15 he who fashions the hearts of them all, and observes all their deeds.
16 Gli occhi del Signore stanno sopra i giusti; e le sue orecchie a loro preghiere.	16 A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17 Ma il volto del Signore è sopra i malfacenti, per perdere loro memoria dalla terra.	17 The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save.
18 Gridorono i giusti, e il Signore li esauditte; e liberolli dalle loro tribulazioni.	18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,
19 Appresso è il Signore a quelli che sono col tribulato cuore; e li umili di spirito salvarà.	19 that he may deliver their soul from death, and keep them alive in famine.
20 Molte sono le tribulazioni de' giusti; e da tutte queste libereralli il Signore.	20 Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and shield.
21 Il Signore guarda tutte loro ossa; una di quelle non si romperà.	21 Yea, our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.
22 Pessima è la morte de' peccatori; e quelli che hanno avuto in odio il giusto, peccheranno.	22 Let thy steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.
23 Ricomprerà il Signore l' animé de' servi suoi; e non abbandonerà coloro che in lui sperano.
