1 Тоді Еліяшів, первосвященик, і його брати священики взялися до роботи й збудували Овечі ворота. Вони посвятили їх і поставили їхні половини; посвятили їх аж до башти Сотні та й до башти Хананела	1 Then Eliasib the high priest arose, and his brethren the priests, and they built the flock gate: they sanctified it, and set up the doors thereof, even unto the tower of a hundred cubits they sanctified it unto the tower of Hananeel.
2 Побіч будували єрихонці, а побіч них будував Заккур, син Імрі.	2 And next to him the men of Jericho built: and next to them built Zachur the son of Amri.
3 Рибні ворота будували люди з Сенаї: вони збили одвірки їхні докупи, поставили їхні половини, замки їхні й засуви.	3 But the fish gate the sons of Asnaa built: they covered it, and set up the doors thereof, and tire locks, and the bars. And next to them built Marimuth the son of Urias the son of Accus.
4 Коло них поправляв Меремот, син Урії, сина Гаккоша; біля нього поправляв Мешуллам, син Берахії,’ сина Мешезавела, а побіч нього поправляв Цадок, син Баани.	4 And next to him built Mosollam tile son of Barachias, the sell of Merezebel, and next to them built Sadoc the son of Baana.
5 Коло цих поправляли текояни, однак значніші з них не нахилили своєї шиї до праці для свого Господа.	5 And next to them the Thecuites built: but their great men did not put their necks to the work of their Lord.
6 Старі ворота поправляли Йояда, син Пасеаха, й Мешуллам, син Бесодії; вони збили докупи одвірки, поставили половини, замки й засуви.	6 And Joiada the son of Phasea, and Mosollam the son of Besodia built the old gate: they covered it and set up the doors thereof, and the locks, and the bars.
7 Коло них поправляли Мелатія гівеоній та Ядон меренотій і люди з Гівеону й Міцпи, що залежали від престолу начальника заріччя.	7 And next to them built Meltias the Gabaonite, and Jadon the Meronathite, the men of Gabaon and Maspha, for the governor that was in the country beyond the river.
8 Коло цих поправляв Узієл, син Харгаї, з золотарів, а коло нього поправляв Хананія, один з тих, що виробляли пахощі. Вони укріпили Єрусалим аж до широкого муру.	8 And next to him built Eziel the son of Araia the goldsmith: and next to him built Ananias the son of the perfumer: and they left Jerusalem unto the wall of the broad street.
9 Коло них поправляв Рефая, син Хура, старшина половини єрусалимської округи.	9 And next to him built Raphaia the son of Hur, lord of the street of Jerusalem.
10 Коло них поправляв Єдая, син Харумафа, навпроти дому свого, а коло нього поправляв Хаттуш, син Хашавнії.	10 And next to him Jedaia the son of Haromaph over against his own house: and next to him built Hattus the son of Hasebonia.
11 Другу частину поправляли Малкія, син Харіма, та Хашшув, син Пахат-Моава, аж до башти Печей.	11 ,11Melchias the son of Herem, and Hasub the son of Phahath Moab, built half the street, and the tower of the furnaces.
12 Коло нього поправляв Шаллум, син Галлохеша, старшина половини єрусалимської округи, — він і його дочки.	12 And next to him built Sellum the son of Alohes, lord of half the street of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
13 Долинні ворота поправляв Ханун з мешканцями Заноаху. Вони їх збудували, поставили половини, замки й засуви, а до того тисячу ліктів муру до Гнояних воріт.	13 And the gate of the valley Hanun built, and the inhabitants of Zanoe: they built it, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks, and the bars, and a thousand cubits in the wall unto the gate of the dunghill.
14 А Гнояні ворота поправляв Малкія, син Рехава, старшина беткеремської округи. Він збудував їх, поставив половини, замки й засуви.	14 And the gate of the dunghill Melchias the son of Rechab built, lord of the street of Bethacharam : he built it, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks, and the bars.
15 Джерельні ворота поправляв Шаллум, син Кол-Хозе, старшина міцпаської округи. Він збудував їх, покрив їх, поставив половини, замки й засуви, а до того й мур Сілоамської саджавки коло царського саду аж до сходів, що спускаються вниз із Давидового міста.	15 And the gate of the fountain Sellum the son of Cholhoza built, lord of the street of Maspha: he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks, and the bare, and the walls of the pool of Siloe unto the king's guard, and unto the steps that go down from the city of David.
16 За ним поправляв Неємія, син Азбука, старшина половини бетцурської округи, аж до гробовищ Давида й до видовбаної саджавки та дому витязів.	16 After him built Nehemias the son of Azboc, lord of half the street of Bethsur, as far as over against the sepulchre of David, and to the pool, that was built with great labour, and to the house of the mighty.
17 За ним поправляли левіти: Рехум, син Бані. Коло нього поправляв для своєї округи Хашавія, старшина половини кеїльської округи.	17 After him built the Levites, Rehum the son of Benni. After him built Hasebias, lord of half the street of Ceila in his own street.
18 За ним поправляли брати їхні, Баввай, син Хенадада, старшина половини кеїльської округи.	18 After him built their brethren Bavai the son of Enadad, lord of half Ceila.
19 Коло нього поправляв другу частину Езер, син Ісуса, старшина з Міцпи, проти виходу до збройниці, на розі.	19 And next to him Aser the son of Josue, lord of Maspha, built another measure, over against the going up of the strong corner.
20 За ним поправляв другу частину Варух, син Заббая, від рогу аж до входу в дім Еліяшіва, первосвященика.	20 After him in the mount Baruch the son of Zachai built another measure, from the corner to the door of the house of Eliasib the high priest.
21 За ним поправляв другу частину Меремот, син Урії, сина Гаккоца, від входу в дім Еліяшіва до кінця дому Еліяшіва.	21 After him Merimuth the son of Urias the son of Haccus, built another measure, from the door of the house of Eliasib, to the end of the house of Eliasib.
22 А за ним поправляли священики з околиць Йордану.	22 And after him built the priests, the men of the plains of the Jordan.
23 За ними поправляв Веніямин та Хашшув навпроти свого дому, а за ним поправляв Азарія, син Масеї, сина Ананії, коло свого дому.	23 After him built Benjamin and Hasub, over against their own house : and after him built Azarias the son of Maasias the son of Ananias over against his house.
24 За ним поправляв другу частину Біннуй, син Хенадада, від дому Азарії до рогу та до закруту.	24 After him built Bennui the son of Hanadad another measure, from the house of Azarias unto the bending, and unto the corner.
25 Палал, син Узая, поправляв проти рогу й башти, що виступала з вищої частини царської палати, коло вартового двору. За ним Педая, син Пароша,	25 Phalel, the son of Ozi, over against the bending and the tower, which lieth out from the king's high house, that is, in the court of the prison: after him Phadaia the son of Pharos.
26 і нетінеї, що жили на Офелі, проти Водяних воріт, на схід, і аж до виступаючої башти.	26 And the Nathinites dwelt in Ophel, as far as over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that stood out.
27 За ним поправляли текояни другу частину від місця проти великої вистаючої башти до муру Офелу.	27 After him the Thecuites built another measure over against, from the great tower that standeth out unto the wall of the temple.
28 Далі від Кінських воріт поправляли священики, кожний проти свого дому.	28 And upward from the horse gate the priests built, every man over against his house.
29 За ними поправляв Цадок, син Іммера, проти свого дому, а за ним поправляв Шемая, син Шеханії, вартовий коло Східніх воріт.	29 After them built Sadoc the son of Emmer over against his house. And after him built Semaia the son of Sechenias, keeper of the east gate.
30 За ним поправляли другу частину Хананія, син Шелемії, та Ханун, шостий син Цалафа. За цим поправляв Мешуллам, син Берехії, проти своєї кімнати.	30 After him built Hanania the son of Selemia, and Hanun the sixth son of Seleph, another measure: after him built Mosollam the son of Barachias over against his treasury. After him Melcias the goldsmith's son built unto the house of the Nathinites, and of the sellers of small wares, over against the judgment gate, and unto the chamber of the corner.
31 За ним поправляв Малкія, з золотарів, аж по дім нетінеїв та крамарів, проти Вартових воріт і до наріжної горішньої світлиці.	31 And within the chamber of the corner of the dock gate, the goldsmiths and the merchants built.
32 А між наріжною горішньою світлицею та Овечими ворітьми поправляли золотарі та крамарі.
33 Скоро ж Санбаллат почув, що ми будуємо мур, розсердився й розлютився вельми та глузував із юдеїв.
34 Він поговорював при своїх братах та при самарійських вояках: «Що роблять оті нужденні юдеї? Невже ж їм це дозволять? Невже вони приноситимуть жертви? Невже впораються в один день? Невже вони з купи пороху зроблять живим каміння, та ще й до того спалене?»
35 А Товія аммоній, що стояв коло нього, приговорював: «Нехай собі будують! Вискочить лисиця й повалить їхній кам’яний мур.»
36 Почуй, Боже наш, як гордують нами! Поверни їхній глум на їхню голову й видай їх на ганьбу в землі неволі.
37 Не покрий їхнього беззаконня, і нехай їхній гріх не зникне з-перед лиця твого, вони бо образили тих, що будують.
38 Ми, одначе, будували мур, і він увесь виведений аж до половини, бо народ узявся щирим серцем до роботи.
