1 (Per la fine. Per Voltava. Salmo di David).	1 Unto the end. For the octave. A Psalm of David.
2 Salvami, o Signore, perchè gli uomini pii sono spariti, e la sincerità è venuta meno tra i figli degli uomini.	2 Save me, O Lord, because holiness has passed away, because truths have been diminished, before the sons of men.
3 Ognuno dice menzogne al suo prossimo; con labbra ingannatrici parlano, con doppiezza di cuore.	3 They have been speaking emptiness, each one to his neighbor; they have been speaking with deceitful lips and a duplicitous heart.
4 Il Signore stermini tutte le labbra ingannatrici e la lingua arrogante,	4 May the Lord scatter all deceitful lips, along with the tongue that speaks malice.
5 Quelli che dicono: « Renderemo potente la nostra lingua, le nostre labbra sono in nostro potere: chi è che ci possa comandare? »	5 They have said: “We will magnify our tongue; our lips belong to us. What is Lord to us?”
6 Per la miseria degli afflitti e il gemito dei poveri, ora mi levo su io, dice il Signore, gli assicurerò la salvezza, agirò liberamente in suo favore ».	6 Because of the misery of the destitute and the groaning of the poor, now I will arise, says the Lord. I will place him in safety. I will act faithfully toward him.
7 Le parole del Signore sono parole sincere, argento passato pel fuoco, purificato nel crogiolo di terra, raffinato sette volte.	7 The eloquence of the Lord is pure eloquence, silver tested by fire, purged from the earth, refined seven times.
8 Tu, o Signore, ci salverai, ci preserverai da tal genia in eterno.	8 You, O Lord, will preserve us, and you will guard us from this generation into eternity.
9 Gli empi vanno in giro all'intorno; secondo la tua altissima sapienza hai moltiplicati i figli degli uomini.	9 The impious wander aimlessly. According to your loftiness, you have multiplied the sons of men.
