Oséias 12

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Efraim se alimenta de vento, persegue o vento do oriente, multiplica dia a dia a mentira e a violência; fazem aliança com a Assíria, e transportam óleo em homenagem ao Egito.	1 Ephraim besieges me with lying, the House of Israel with duplicity. (But Judah stil is on God's side, heis faithful to the Holy One.)
2 O Senhor está em processo com Judá; vai castigar Jacó pelos seus atos e tratá-lo segundo as suas obras.	2 Ephraim feeds himself on wind, all day he chases the wind from the East, he heaps up cheating andviolence; they make a treaty with Assyria, at the same time sending oil to Egypt.
3 Desde o nascimento Jacó suplantou o irmão, e quando se tornou adulto, lutou com Deus.	3 Yahweh has a case against Judah, he will punish Jacob as his conduct merits, he will repay him as hisdeeds deserve.
4 Lutou com o anjo e o venceu, chorou e lhe pediu graça. Encontrou-o em Betel, onde {Deus} nos falou,	4 In the very womb he overreached his brother, in maturity he wrestled against God.
5 o Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, cujo nome é Javé.	5 He wrestled with the angel and beat him, he wept and pleaded with him. He met him at Bethel andthere God spoke to us-
6 Quanto a ti, volta ao teu Deus, conserva a piedade e a justiça, e espera sempre no teu Deus.	6 yes, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, Yahweh is his title!
7 Esse mercador tem uma balança falsa e ama a fraude!	7 So turn back with God's help, maintain faithful love and loyalty and always put your trust in your God.
8 Efraim disse: Em verdade, tornei-me rico, amontoei fortuna. Mas todos os seus ganhos não poderiam compensar os pecados que ele cometeu.	8 Merchants use fraudulent scales. To defraud is his delight.
9 Eu sou o Senhor, teu Deus, desde a saída do Egito; farei com que habites de novo sob tendas, como nos dias de festa.	9 'How rich I have become!' says Ephraim, 'I have made a fortune.' But of al his gains he wil keepnothing because of the sin of which he is guilty.
10 Falei aos profetas e multipliquei as visões; pela boca dos profetas falei em comparações.	10 But I have been Yahweh your God since your days in Egypt and will make you live in tents again asin the days of Meeting.
11 Se Galaad não passa de um ídolo vão, eles se tornaram em Gálgala um puro nada; ofereceram sacrifícios aos ídolos, por isso seus altares serão transformados em montões de pedras nos sulcos dos campos.	11 I will speak through prophets, I will give vision after vision and through the ministry of prophets wilspeak in parables.
12 Jacó fugiu para os campos de Arão, Israel trabalhou como servo para obter esposa, e por uma mulher guardou os rebanhos.	12 Is Gilead a sink of iniquity? Yes, they are a worthless lot! At Gilgal they sacrifice to bulls, that is whytheir altars are like heaps of stones in a ploughed field.
13 O Senhor fez sair Israel do Egito por um profeta, por um profeta foi guardado o povo.	13 Jacob fled to the countryside of Aram, Israel slaved to win a wife, to win a wife he looked after sheep.
14 Efraim causou amargos desgostos: por isso o sangue que ele derramou recairá sobre ele, e seu Senhor lhe pagará seus ultrajes.	14 By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet Israel was preserved.
	15 Ephraim gave bitter provocation- Yahweh will bring his bloodshed down on him, his Lord wil repayhim for his insult.
