Al maestro di coro. Salmo. Di Davide. Canto.1 Unto the end. A Canticle Psalm of the Resurrection. Shout joyfully to God, all the earth.
A te s'addice la lode, o Dio, in Sion; a te si sciolga il voto in Gerusalemme,2 Proclaim a psalm to his name. Give glory to his praise.
a te che ascolti la prece. Davanti a te ogni mortale porta3 Exclaim to God, “How terrible are your works, O Lord!” According to the fullness of your virtue, your enemies will speak lies about you.
il peso delle sue colpe. Più grandi di noi sono i nostri misfatti, ma tu ci dài il tuo perdono.4 Let all the earth adore you and sing psalms to you. May it sing a psalm to your name.
Beato l'uomo che tu eleggi e chiami vicino a te perché abiti nei tuoi atri! Vorremmo saziarci dei beni della tua casa! Santo è il tuo tempio!5 Draw near and see the works of God, who is terrible in his counsels over the sons of men.
Con prodigi tu ci rispondi nella giustizia, tu, Dio della nostra salvezza; tu, speranza dei confini della terra e dei mari lontani.6 He converts the sea into dry land. They will cross the river on foot. There, we will rejoice in him.
Tu con la tua forza hai reso stabili i monti, tu che ti cingi di potenza.7 He rules by his virtue for eternity. His eyes gaze upon the nations. May those who exasperate him, not be exalted in themselves.
Tu mettesti a tacere il fragore del mare, il fragore dei suoi flutti e lo strepito dei popoli.8 Bless our God, you Gentiles, and make the voice of his praise be heard.
Furono presi da timore gli abitanti degli estremi confini davanti ai tuoi prodigi; le vie d'oriente e d'occidente farai gridare di gioia...9 He has set my soul toward life, and he has granted that my feet may not be shaken.
Hai visitato la terra e l'hai fatta sovrabbondare, l'hai resa ricca oltre ogni misura. Il canale divino è pieno di acqua; tu prepari per loro il frumento, perché così tu hai disposto.10 For you, O God, have tested us. You have examined us by fire, just as silver is examined.
Tu irrighi i suoi solchi, ne spiani le zolle, la bagni con le piogge, ne benedici i germogli.11 You have led us into a snare. You have placed tribulations on our back.
L'anno coroni con i tuoi benefici e le tue orme stillano abbondanza.12 You have set men over our heads. We have crossed through fire and water. And you have led us out to refreshment.
Stillano i pascoli del deserto e si cingono le colline di letizia.13 I will enter your house with holocausts. I will repay my vows to you,
Si vestono i prati di greggi e si ammantano le valli di frumento: essi esulteranno e canteranno.14 which my lips discerned and my mouth spoke, in my tribulation.
I will offer to you holocausts full of marrow, with the burnt offerings of rams. I will offer to you bulls as well as goats.
Draw near and listen, all you who fear God, and I will describe to you how much he has done for my soul.
I cried out to him with my mouth, and I extolled him under my breath.
If I have seen iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not heed me.
And yet, God has heeded me and he has attended to the voice of my supplication.
Blessed is God, who has not removed my prayer, nor his mercy, from me.
