1 A Prayer of David. Lord, listen to my justice, attend to my supplication. Pay attention to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.	1 - Preghiera di David. Ascolta, o Signore, la mia giustizia, bada al mio supplice grido, porgi orecchio alla mia preghiera, non [fatta] con labbra ingannatrici.
2 Let my judgment proceed from your presence. Let your eyes behold fairness.	2 Dal tuo cospetto proceda il mio giudizio: veggano i tuoi occhi quello ch'è giusto.
3 You have tested my heart and visited it by night. You have examined me by fire, and iniquity has not been found in me.	3 Hai scrutato il mio cuore e l'hai visitato la notte, m'hai saggiato al fuoco e non s'è trovata iniquità in me.
4 Therefore, may my mouth not speak the works of men. I have kept to difficult ways because of the words of your lips.	4 Perché non parlasse la mia bocca cose da uomini, io, per le parole delle tue labbra, ho battuto vie faticose.
5 Perfect my steps in your paths, so that my footsteps may not be disturbed.	5 Ho raffermato i miei passi ne' tuoi sentieri, non han vacillato i miei piedi.
6 I have cried out because you, O God, have listened to me. Incline your ear to me and heed my words.	6 [A te] io grido, perché tu m'esaudisci, o Dio! China l'orecchio tuo a me ed ascolta le mie parole.
7 Make your mercies wonderful, for you save those who hope in you.	7 Fa' risplendere le tue misericordie, o tu che salvi quei che confidano in te.
8 From those who resist your right hand, preserve me like the pupil of your eye. Protect me under the shadow of your wings,	8 Da coloro che si ribellano alla tua destracustodiscimi come la pupilla dell'occhio; sotto l'ombra delle tue ali proteggimi,
9 from the face of the impious who have afflicted me. My enemies have surrounded my soul.	9 lungi dagli empi che mi travagliano, [da] i nemici [che] assediano l'anima mia.
10 They have concealed their fatness; their mouth has been speaking arrogantly.	10 Han chiuso le loro viscere, la lor bocca parla [con] arroganza.
11 They have cast me out, and now they have surrounded me. They have cast their eyes down to the earth.	11 Per abbattermi m'hanno attorniato, han tesi gli occhi loro per gittarmi a terra.
12 They have taken me, like a lion ready for the prey, and like a young lion dwelling in hiding.	12 Stan [pronti] ad acchiapparmi come leone che apposta la preda, e come lioncello rimpiattato ne' nascondigli.
13 Rise up, O Lord, arrive before him and displace him. Deliver my soul from the impious one: your spear from the enemies of your hand.	13 Sorgi, o Signore, corrigli incontro e abbattilo. Strappa l'anima mia dall'empio, la tua spada
14 Lord, divide them from the few of the earth in their life. Their gut has been filled from your hidden stores. They have been filled with sons, and they have bequeathed to their little ones the remainder.	14 dai nemici della tua mano, o Signore. Da' quei pochi [beni] di terra, [onde inorgogliscono], separali nella vita loro: de' tuoi tesori [invero] è ripieno il loro ventre, son sazi di figli, e lasciano il di più ai loro bambini!
15 But as for me, I will appear before your sight in justice. I will be satisfied when your glory appears.	15 Ma io nella giustizia mi presenterò al tuo cospetto, mi sazierò all'apparir della tua gloria.
