Unto the end. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They were corrupted, and they have become abominable in their studies. There is no one who does good; there is not even one.1 Pour la fin, psaume de David. Jusques à quand, Seigneur, m'oublierez-Vous sans cesse? * Jusques à quand détournerez-Vous de moi Votre face?
The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men, to see if there were any who were considering or seeking God.2 Jusques à quand remplirai-je mon âme de projets, * et mon coeur chaque jour de chagrin?
They have all gone astray; together they have become useless. There is no one who does good; there is not even one.3 Jusques à quand mon ennemi sera-t-il élevé au-dessus de moi?*
Their throat is an open sepulcher. With their tongues, they have been acting deceitfully; the venom of asps is under their lips. Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.4 Regardez, et exaucez-moi, Seigneur mon Dieu. Eclairez mes yeux, afin que je ne m'endorme jamais dans la mort;*
Their feet are swift to shed blood. Grief and unhappiness are in their ways; and the way of peace, they have not known.5 de peur que mon ennemi me dise: J'ai eu l'avantage contre lui. Ceux qui me persécutent seront dans l'allégresse si je suis ébranlé;*
There is no fear of God before their eyes.6 mais j'ai espéré en Votre miséricorde. Mon coeur sera transporté de joie à cause de Votre salut. Je chanterai le Seigneur qui m'a comblé de biens, * et je célébrerai le Nom du Seigneur Très-Haut.
Who will grant the salvation of Israel from Zion? When the Lord turns away the captivity of his people, Jacob will exult, and Israel will rejoice.
