1 The kings of the land east of the Jordan, from the River Arnon to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern section of the Arabah, whom the Israelites conquered and whose lands they occupied, were:1 The kings of the country, whom the Israelites conquered and whose territory they took, on the further, eastern side of the Jordan, from the Wadi Arnon to Mount Hermon, with the entire Arabah to the east, were asfol ows:
2 First, Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon. His domain extended from Aroer, which is on the bank of the Wadi Arnon, to include the wadi itself, and the land northward through half of Gilead to the Wadi Jabbok,2 Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon, ruled from Aroer which is on the edge of the ArnonVal ey, including the bottom of the val ey, half Gilead and as far as the Jabbok, the river forming the frontier withthe Ammonites;
3 as well as the Arabah from the eastern side of the Sea of Chinnereth, as far south as the eastern side of the Salt Sea of the Arabah in the direction of Beth-jeshimoth, to a point under the slopes of Pisgah.3 the eastern Arabah up to the Sea of Chinneroth, and as far as the Sea of the Arabah, or Salt Sea, onthe eastern side, in the direction of Beth-Jeshimoth, and, in the south, the watered foothil s of Mount Pisgah.
4 Secondly, Og, king of Bashan, a survivor of the Rephaim, who lived at Ashtaroth and Edrei.4 Og king of Bashan, one of the last of the Rephaim, who lived at Ashtaroth and Edrei,
5 He ruled over Mount Hermon, Salecah, and all Bashan as far as the boundary of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and over half of Gilead as far as the territory of Sihon, king of Heshbon.5 ruled over Mount Hermon and Salecah, the whole of Bashan to the frontier of the Geshurites andMaacathites, and half Gilead to the frontier of Sihon king of Heshbon.
6 After Moses, the servant of the LORD, and the Israelites conquered them, he assigned their land to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, as their property.6 Moses, servant of Yahweh, and the Israelites conquered these, and Moses, servant of Yahweh,conferred their territory on the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
7 This is a list of the kings whom Joshua and the Israelites conquered west of the Jordan and whose land, from Baal-gad in the Lebanon valley to Mount Halak which rises toward Seir, Joshua apportioned to the tribes of Israel.7 The kings of the country whom Joshua and the Israelites conquered on the nearer, western side of theJordan, from Baal-Gad in the Vale of Lebanon to Mount Halak rising towards Seir, and whose heritage Joshuadistributed to the tribes of Israel, dividing it up between them, were as follows:
8 It included the mountain regions and foothills, the Arabah, the slopes, the desert, and the Negeb, belonging to the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.8 In the highlands and the lowlands, in the Arabah and in the watered foothil s, in the desert and in theNegeb, belonging to the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites:
9 They were the kings of Jericho, Ai (which is near Bethel),9 the king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai near Bethel, one;

24 and the king of Tirzah: thirty-one kings in all.24 the king of Tirzah, one; Total number of al these kings: thirty-one.
