1 For the leader. Of David. In the LORD I take refuge; how can you say to me, "Flee like a bird to the mountains!	1 (Per la fine. Per Voltava. Salmo di David).
2 See how the wicked string their bows, fit their arrows to the string to shoot from the shadows at the upright.	2 Salvami, o Signore, perchè gli uomini pii sono spariti, e la sincerità è venuta meno tra i figli degli uomini.
3 When foundations are being destroyed, what can the upright do?"	3 Ognuno dice menzogne al suo prossimo; con labbra ingannatrici parlano, con doppiezza di cuore.
4 The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD'S throne is in heaven. God's eyes keep careful watch; they test all peoples.	4 Il Signore stermini tutte le labbra ingannatrici e la lingua arrogante,
5 The LORD tests the good and the bad, hates those who love violence,	5 Quelli che dicono: « Renderemo potente la nostra lingua, le nostre labbra sono in nostro potere: chi è che ci possa comandare? »
6 And rains upon the wicked fiery coals and brimstone, a scorching wind their allotted cup.	6 Per la miseria degli afflitti e il gemito dei poveri, ora mi levo su io, dice il Signore, gli assicurerò la salvezza, agirò liberamente in suo favore ».
7 The LORD is just and loves just deeds; the upright shall see his face.	7 Le parole del Signore sono parole sincere, argento passato pel fuoco, purificato nel crogiolo di terra, raffinato sette volte.
	8 Tu, o Signore, ci salverai, ci preserverai da tal genia in eterno.
	9 Gli empi vanno in giro all'intorno; secondo la tua altissima sapienza hai moltiplicati i figli degli uomini.
