1 ALLELUJA! Áldjátok az Urat, mert jó, mert irgalma örökkévaló.	1 Hallelujah! Give thanks to the LORD, who is good, whose love endures forever.
2 Ki tudná elmondani az Úr nagy tetteit, ki tudná elbeszélni minden dicső művét?	2 Who can tell the mighty deeds of the LORD, proclaim in full God's praise?
3 Boldogok, akik megtartják a törvényt, és mindenkor az igazat cselekszik!	3 Happy those who do what is right, whose deeds are always just.
4 Gondolj ránk, Uram, néped iránti jókedvvel, látogass meg minket szabadításoddal,	4 Remember me, LORD, as you favor your people; come to me with your saving help,
5 hadd lássuk választottaid jólétét, hadd örvendjünk nemzeted örömének, hadd dicsekedjünk örökségeddel.	5 That I may see the prosperity of your chosen, rejoice in the joy of your people, and glory with your heritage.
6 Vétkeztünk, mint ahogy atyáink, igaztalanul cselekedtünk, gonoszságot követtünk el.	6 We have sinned like our ancestors; we have done wrong and are guilty.
7 Atyáink Egyiptomban nem értették meg csodáidat, nem fogták fel nagy irgalmadat, lázadoztak, amikor a tengerhez, a Vörös-tengerhez jutottak.	7 Our ancestors in Egypt did not attend to your wonders. They did not remember your great love; they defied the Most High at the Red Sea.
8 De ő megmentette őket nevéért, hogy megismertesse hatalmát.	8 Yet he saved them for his name's sake to make his power known.

11 Víz borította el szorongatóikat, egy sem maradt életben közülük.	11 The waters covered their oppressors; not one of them survived.
12 Ekkor hittek szavainak, és dicséretére éneket zengtek.	12 Then they believed his words and sang songs of praise.
13 De csakhamar elfeledték tetteit, és nem bíztak terveiben,	13 But they soon forgot all he had done; they had no patience for his plan.
14 hanem heves kívánságra gerjedtek a sivatagban, és megkísértették Istent a pusztában.	14 In the desert they gave way to their cravings, tempted God in the wasteland.

17 Erre megnyílt a föld, elnyelte Dátánt, s elborította Abiron csoportját.	17 The earth opened and swallowed Dathan, it closed on the followers of Abiram.
18 Tűz gyulladt fel gyülekezetükben, láng égette el a bűnösöket.	18 Against that company the fire blazed; flames consumed the wicked.
19 A Hórebnél borjút készítettek, és az öntött képet imádták.	19 At Horeb they fashioned a calf, worshiped a metal statue.
20 Dicsőségüket fölcserélték a füvet evő bika képével.	20 They exchanged their glorious God for the image of a grass-eating bull.
21 Elfeledték Istent, aki megszabadította őket, aki nagy dolgokat művelt Egyiptomban,	21 They forgot the God who saved them, who did great deeds in Egypt,

27 s a nemzetek közé szórja utódaikat, és elszélessze őket az országokban.	27 To scatter their descendants among the nations, disperse them in foreign lands.
28 Majd Baál-Peorhoz pártoltak, és holt bálványoknak bemutatott áldozatokat ettek.	28 They joined in the rites of Baal of Peor, ate food sacrificed to dead gods.
29 Cselekedeteikkel haragra ingerelték őt, és romlás tört rájuk.	29 They provoked him by their actions, and a plague broke out among them.
30 De Fineesz előállt, ítéletet tartott, és a csapásnak vége lett.	30 Then Phinehas rose to intervene, and the plague was brought to a halt.
31 Ezt ő érdeméül számította be neki, nemzedékről nemzedékre, örökre.	31 This was counted for him as a righteous deed for all generations to come.
32 Majd Meriba vizeinél ingerelték haragra, és miattuk Mózes is bajba jutott,	32 At the waters of Meribah they angered God, and Moses suffered because of them.

35 Sőt a nemzetek közé vegyültek, eltanulták cselekedeteiket,	35 But mingled with the nations and imitated their ways.
36 bálványaiknak szolgáltak, s ez vesztükre lett.	36 They worshiped their idols and were ensnared by them.
37 Feláldozták fiaikat és leányaikat a gonosz szellemeknek.	37 They sacrificed to the gods their own sons and daughters,
38 Ártatlan vért ontottak, fiaik és leányaik vérét, akiket Kánaán bálványainak áldoztak. Megfertőzték a vérrel az országot,	38 Shedding innocent blood, the blood of their own sons and daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, desecrating the land with bloodshed.
39 tisztátalanná lettek cselekedeteikben, paráznákká tetteikben.	39 They defiled themselves by their actions, became adulterers by their conduct.
40 Ekkor az Úr haragra gerjedt népe ellen, és megutálta örökségét.	40 So the LORD grew angry with his people, abhorred his own heritage.
41 A nemzetek kezébe adta őket, és gyűlölőik uralkodtak rajtuk.	41 He handed them over to the nations, and their adversaries ruled them.
42 Ellenségeik sanyargatták őket, s ők megaláztatást szenvedtek kezük alatt.	42 Their enemies oppressed them, kept them under subjection.
43 Gyakran megszabadította őket, de ők csak ingerelték szándékaikkal, s elmerültek gonoszságukban.	43 Many times did he rescue them, but they kept rebelling and scheming and were brought low by their own guilt.
44 De ő meglátta, amikor nyomorogtak, és meghallgatta kiáltásukat.	44 Still God had regard for their affliction when he heard their wailing.
45 Megemlékezett szövetségéről, és nagy irgalmában megszánta őket.	45 For their sake he remembered his covenant and relented in his abundant love,
46 Irgalmat szerzett nekik mindazoknál, akik fogságba hurcolták őket.	46 Winning for them compassion from all who held them captive.
47 Szabadíts meg minket, Urunk, Istenünk, és gyűjts össze minket a nemzetek közül, hogy hálát adhassunk szent nevednek, és dicsekedhessünk dicséreteddel.	47 Save us, LORD, our God; gather us from among the nations That we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in praising you.
48 Áldott legyen az Úr, Izrael Istene, öröktől fogva mindörökre! És mondja az egész nép: »Ámen! Ámen!«	48 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Let all the people say, Amen! Hallelujah!
