DOUAI-RHEIMS	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 All wisdom is from the Lord God, and hath been always with him, and is before all time.	1 Toda a sabedoria vem do Senhor Deus, ela sempre esteve com ele. Ela existe antes de todos os séculos.
2 Who hath numbered the sand of the sea, and the drops of rain, and the days of the world? Who hath measured the height of heaven, and the breadth of the earth, and the depth of the abyss?	2 Quem pode contar os grãos de areia do mar, as gotas de chuva, os dias do tempo? Quem pode medir a altura do céu, a extensão da terra, a profundidade do abismo?
3 Who hath searched out the wisdom of God that goeth before all things?	3 Quem pode penetrar a sabedoria divina, anterior a tudo?
4 Wisdom hath been created before all things, and the understanding of prudence from everlasting.	4 A sabedoria foi criada antes de todas as coisas, a inteligência prudente existe antes dos séculos!
5 The word of God on high is the fountain of wisdom, and her ways are everlasting commandments.	5 O verbo de Deus nos céus é fonte de sabedoria, seus caminhos são os mandamentos eternos.
6 To whom hath the root of wisdom been revealed, and who hath known her wise counsels?	6 A quem foi revelada a raiz da sabedoria? Quem pode discernir os seus artifícios?
7 To whom hath the discipline of wisdom been revealed and made manifest? and who hath understood the multiplicity of her steps?	7 A quem foi mostrada e revelada a ciência da sabedoria? Quem pode compreender a multiplicidade de seus caminhos?
8 There is one most high Creator Almighty, and a powerful king, and greatly to be feared, who sitteth upon his throne, and is the God of dominion.	8 Somente o Altíssimo, criador onipotente, rei poderoso e infinitamente temível, Deus dominador, sentado no seu trono;
9 He created her in the Holy Ghost, and saw her, and numbered her, and measured her.	9 foi ele quem a criou no Espírito Santo, quem a viu, numerada e medida;
10 And he poured her out upon all his works, and upon all flesh according to his gift, and hath given her to them that love him.	10 ele a espargiu em todas as suas obras, sobre toda a carne, à medida que a repartiu, e deu-a àqueles que a amavam.
11 The fear of the Lord is honour, and glory, and gladness, and a crown of joy.	11 O temor do Senhor é uma glória, um motivo de glória, uma fonte de alegria, uma coroa de regozijo.
12 The fear of the Lord shall delight the heart, and shall give joy, and gladness, and length of days.	12 O temor do Senhor alegra o coração. Ele nos dá alegria, regozijo e longa vida.
13 With him that feareth the Lord, it shall go well in the latter end, and in the day of his death he shall be blessed.	13 Quem teme o Senhor sentir-se-á bem no instante derradeiro, no dia da morte será abençoado.
14 The love of God is honourable wisdom.	14 O amor de Deus é uma sabedoria digna de ser honrada.
15 Ana they to whom she shall shew herself love her by the sight, and by the knowledge of her great works.	15 Aqueles a quem ela se mostra, amam-na logo que a vêem, logo que reconhecem os prodígios que realiza.
16 The fear of the Lord Is the beginning of wisdom, and was created with the faithful in the womb, it walketh with chosen women, and is known with the just and faithful.	16 O temor do Senhor é o início da sabedoria. Ela foi criada com os homens fiéis no seio de sua mãe, ela caminha com as mulheres de escol, vemo-la na companhia dos justos e dos fiéis.
17 The fear of the Lord is the religiousness of knowledge.	17 O temor ao Senhor é a religião da ciência.
18 Religiousness shall keep and justify the heart, it shall give joy and gladness.	18 Essa religião guarda e santifica o coração; ela lhe traz satisfação e alegria.
19 It shall go well with him that feareth the Lord, and in the days of his end he shall be blessed.	19 Aquele que teme ao Senhor achar-se-á confortado, no dia da morte será abençoado.
20 To fear God is the fulness of wisdom, and fulness is from the fruits thereof.	20 O temor ao Senhor é a plenitude da sabedoria, a plenitude de seus frutos, (para aquele que a possui) 21. ela enche toda a sua casa com os bens que produz, e seus celeiros com seus tesouros.
21 She shall fill all her house with her increase, and the storehouses with her treasures.
22 The fear of the Lord is a crown of wisdom, filling up peace and the fruit of salvation:	22 O temor do Senhor é a coroa da sabedoria: dá uma plenitude de paz e de frutos de salvação.
23 And it hath seen, and numbered her: but both are the gifts of God.	23 Ele a viu e numerou-a; ora, um e outra são um dom de Deus.
24 Wisdom shall distribute knowledge, and understanding of prudence: and exalteth the glory of them that hold her.	24 A sabedoria distribui a ciência e a prudente inteligência; eleva à glória aqueles que a possuem.
25 The root of wisdom is to fear the Lord: and the branches thereof are longlived.	25 O temor do Senhor é a raiz da sabedoria, seus ramos são de longa duração.
26 In the treasures of wisdom is understanding, and religiousness of knowledge: but to sinners wisdom is an abomination.	26 A inteligência e a religião da ciência se acham nos tesouros da sabedoria, mas a sabedoria é abominada pelos pecadores.
27 The fear of the Lord driveth out sin:	27 O temor ao Senhor expulsa o pecado,
28 For he that is without fear, cannot be justified: for the wrath of his high spirits is his ruin.	28 pois aquele que não tem esse temor não poderá tornar-se justo. A violência de sua paixão causará sua ruína.
29 A patient man shall bear for a time, and afterwards joy shall be restored to him.	29 O homem paciente esperará até um determinado tempo, após o qual a alegria lhe será restituída.
30 A good understanding will hide his words for a time, and the lips of many shall declare his wisdom.	30 O homem de bom senso guarda suas palavras; muitos falarão, em voz alta, de sua prudência.
31 In the treasures of wisdom is the signification of discipline:	31 O sentido da instrução está encerrado nos celeiros da sabedoria.
32 But the worship of God is an abomination to a sinner.	32 Mas o culto de Deus é abominado pelo pecador.
33 Son, if thou desire wisdom, keep justice, and God will give her to thee.	33 Meu filho, tu que desejas ardentemente a sabedoria, sê justo e Deus ta concederá.
34 For the fear of the Lord is wisdom and discipline: and that which is agreeable to him,	34 Pois o temor do Senhor é sabedoria e instrução, e o que lhe é agradável
35 Is faith, and meekness: and he will fill up his treasures.	35 é fidelidade e doçura; ele encherá os celeiros daqueles (que as possuem).
36 Be not incredulous to the fear of the Lord: and come not to him with a double heart.	36 Não sejas rebelde ao temor do Senhor, não vás a ele com um coração fingido.
37 Be not a hypocrite in the sight of men, and let not thy lips be a stumblingblock to thee.	37 Não sejas hipócrita diante dos homens, e que teus lábios não sejam motivo de queda.
38 Watch over them, lest thou fall, and bring dishonour upon thy soul,	38 Vela sobre eles para que não caias, e não atraias sobre tua alma a desonra;
39 And God discover thy secrets, and cast thee down in the midst of the congregation.	39 e para que Deus, revelando teus segredos, não te destrua no meio da assembléia,
40 Because thou camest to the Lord wickedly, and thy heart is full of guile and deceit.	40 por te teres aproximado do Senhor sorrateiramente, com o coração cheio de astúcia e engano.
