| 1 Depois (o anjo) mostrou-me um rio de água viva resplandecente como cristal, que saía do trono de Deus e do Cordeiro. | 1 Then the angel showed me the river of life, rising from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowingcrystal-clear. |
| 2 No meio da praça da cidade, e de uma e de outra parte do rio, estava uma árvore de vida, que doze vezes, dá frutos uma em cada mês, árvore cujas folhas servem para curar as nações. | 2 Down the middle of the city street, on either bank of the river were the trees of life, which bear twelvecrops of fruit in a year, one in each month, and the leaves of which are the cure for the nations. |
| 3 Não haverá ali jamais maldição; o trono de Deus e do Cordeiro estará na cidade; os seus servos o servirão, | 3 The curse of destruction will be abolished. The throne of God and of the Lamb wil be in the city; hisservants will worship him, |
| 4 e verão a sua face, e o seu nome estará sobre as suas frontes. | 4 they wil see him face to face, and his name wil be written on their foreheads. |
| 5 Não haverá ali mais noite, nem eles terão necessidade de luz de lâmpada nem de luz de sol, porque o Senhor Deus os alumiará, e reinarão pelos séculos dos séculos. | 5 And night will be abolished; they will not need lamplight or sunlight, because the Lord God will beshining on them. They wil reign for ever and ever. |
| 6 (O anjo) disse-me: "Estas palavras são muito certas e verdadeiras, e o Senhor, Deus dos espíritos dos profetas, enviou o seu anjo a mostrar aos seus servos as coisas que devem acontecer dentro de pouco tempo. | 6 The angel said to me, 'Al that you have written is sure and wil come true: the Lord God who inspiresthe prophets has sent his angel to reveal to his servants what is soon to take place. |
| 7 E eis que venho (diz o Senhor) sem demora. Bem aventurado aquele que guarda as palavras da profecia deste livro." | 7 I am coming soon!' Blessed are those who keep the prophetic message of this book. |
| 8 E eu, João, (sou) o que ouvi e o que vi estas coisas. Depois de ter ouvido e visto, prostrei-me aos pés do anjo que mas mostrava, para o adorar. | 8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I had heard and seen them all, I knelt atthe feet of the angel who had shown them to me, to worship him; |
| 9 Porém ele disse-me: "Vê, não faças tal: eu sou servo (de Deus) como tu, como teus irmãos, os profetas, e como aqueles que guardam as palavras da profecia deste livro. Adora a Deus." | 9 but he said, 'Do no such thing: I am your fel ow-servant and the fel ow-servant of your brothers theprophets and those who keep the message of this book. God alone you must worship.' |
| 10 E disse-me: "Não seles as palavras da profecia deste livro, porque o tempo está próximo. | 10 This, too, he said to me, 'Do not keep the prophecies in this book a secret, because the Time isclose. |
| 11 Aquele que é injusto, continue a praticar a injustiça; aquele que é impuro, continue na impureza; aquele que é justo, continue a praticar a justiça; aquele que é santo, continue a santificar-se. | 11 Meanwhile let the sinner continue sinning, and the unclean continue to be unclean; let the uprightcontinue in his uprightness, and those who are holy continue to be holy. |
| 12 Eis que venho sem demora, e a minha recompensa está comigo, para retribuir a cada um segundo a sua obra. | 12 Look, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to repay everyone as their deeds deserve. |
| 13 Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, o primeiro e o último, o princípio e o fim. | 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. |
| 14 Bem-aventurados aqueles que lavam as suas vestes (no sangue do Cordeiro) para terem direito à árvore de vida e entrarem na cidade pelas portas. | 14 Blessed are those who wil have washed their robes clean, so that they wil have the right to feed onthe tree of life and can come through the gates into the city. |
| 15 (Ficam) fora os cães, os feiticeiros, os impudicos, os homicidas, os idólatras e todo o que ama e pratica a mentira." | 15 Others must stay outside: dogs, fortune-tel ers, and the sexually immoral, murderers, idolaters, andeveryone of false speech and false life.' |
| 16 "Eu, Jesus,enviei o meu anjo, para vos atestar estas coisas a respeito das Igrejas. Eu sou a raiz e a geração de David, a estrela resplandecente da manhã." | 16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to attest these things to you for the sake of the churches. I am the sprigfrom the root of David and the bright star of the morning. |
| 17 E o Espírito (Santo) e a Esposa dizem: "Vem! E o que ouve, diga; "Vem!" E o que tem sede, venha; e o que quer, receba de graça a água da vida. | 17 The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come!' Let everyone who listens answer, 'Come!' Then let al who arethirsty come: all who want it may have the water of life, and have it free. |
| 18 Eu declaro a todos os que ouvem as palavras da profecia deste livro: se alguém lhes juntar (algum a coisa), Deus carregará sobre ele as pragas escritas neste livro. | 18 This is my solemn attestation to al who hear the prophecies in this book: if anyone adds anything tothem, God wil add to him every plague mentioned in the book; |

Deus lhe tirará a sua parte da árvore da vida e da cidade santa, que estão descritas neste livro. | 19 if anyone cuts anything out of the prophecies in this book, God wil cut off his share of the tree of life and of the holy city, which are described in the book. |
