| 1 Depois foi-me dada uma cana semelhante a uma vara, e foi-me dito: "Levanta-te e mede o templo de Deus, o altar e os que nele adoram. | 1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. |
| 2 Mas o átrio, que está fora do templo, deixa-o de parte, não o meças, porque ele foi dado aos gentios, e eles calcarão a cidade santa durante quarenta e dois meses. | 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. |
| 3 E darei às minhas duas testemunhas o poder de profetizar, revestidos de saco, durante mil duzentos e sessenta dias: | 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. |
| 4 são as duas oliveiras e os dois candeeiros, postos diante do Senhor da terra. | 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. |
| 5 Se alguém lhes quer fazer mal, sai fogo da sua boca, que devora os seus inimigos; se alguém os quer prejudicar, é assim que deve morrer. | 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. |
| 6 Eles têm poder de fechar o céu, para que não chova durante o tempo da sua profecia, e têm poder sobre as águas, para as converter em sangue, e de ferir a terra com todo o gênero de pragas, todas as vezes que quiserem. | 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. |
| 7 E, quando tiverem acabado de dar o seu testemunho, a Besta que sobe do abismo fará guerra contra eles, vencê-los-á e matá-los-á. | 7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. |
| 8 Os seus cadáveres ficam estendidos nas praças da grande cidade, que se chama espiritualmente Sodoma e Egipto, onde também o Senhor deles foi crucificado. | 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. |
| 9 E homens de todos os povos, tribos, línguas e nações, olham os seus cadáveres, durante três dias e meio, sem permitir que estes cadáveres sejam sepultados. | 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. |
| 10 E os habitantes da terra se alegram por causa deles e se felicitam; e mandarão presentes uns aos outros, porque estes dois profetas tinham atormentado os que habitavam sobre a terra. | 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. |
| 11 Mas, depois de três dias e meio, um espírito de vida entrou neles da parte de Deus, e eles puseram-se de pé, e apoderou-se um grande temor dos que os contemplavam. | 11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. |
| 12 E ouviram uma grande voz do céu, que lhes dizia: "Subi para cá." E subiram ao céu na nuvem, á vista dos seus inimigos. | 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. |
| 13 Naquela mesma hora deu-se um grande terramoto: caiu a décima parte da cidade, e no terramoto foram mortos sete mil homens; os restantes foram atemorizados e deram glória ao Deus do céu. | 13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. |
| 14 Passou o segundo ai; o terceiro ai virá em breve. | 14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. |
| 15 O sétimo anjo tocou a trombeta, e ouviram-se no céu grandes vozes, que diziam: "O reino deste mundo passou a ser de Nosso Senhor e do seu Cristo, e ele reinará pelos séculos dos séculos." | 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. |
| 16 Então os vinte e quatro anciães, que estão sentados diante de Deus sobre os seus tronos, prostraram-se sobre os seus rostos e adoraram a Deus, dizendo: | 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, |
| 17 "Graças te damos. Senhor Deus omnipotente, que és e que eras, porque assumiste o teu grande poder e reinaste. | 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. |
| 18 As nações irritaram-se (contra ti), mas chegou o teu furor, assim como o tempo de julgar os mortos e de dar a recompensa aos profetas, teus servos, aos santos e aos que temem o teu nome, peque-nos e grandes, e de exterminar os que destruíam a terra. | 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. |
| 19 Então abriu-se o templo de Deus, o do céu, e apareceu a arca da sua aliança no seu templo. E sobrevieram relâmpagos, vozes, trovões, um terramoto e uma grande saraivada. | 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. |
