| 13 E com tudo isto vós abandonastes-me, e servistes deuses estranhos; por isso não mais vos livrarei. | 13 you still forsook me and worshiped other gods. Therefore I will save you no more. |
| 14 Ide e invocai os deuses que escolhestes; eles vos livrem ao tempo da angústia. | 14 Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen; let them save you now that you are in distress." |
| 15 Mas os filhos de Israel disseram ao Senhor: Pecamos, faz tu de nós o que te parecer; somente livra-nos agora. | 15 But the Israelites said to the LORD, "We have sinned. Do to us whatever you please. Only save us this day." |
| 16 Dizendo estas coisas, lançaram fora de suas terras todos os ídolos dos deuses estranhos, e serviram ao Senhor Deus, que se compadeceu de suas misérias. | 16 And they cast out the foreign gods from their midst and served the LORD, so that he grieved over the misery of Israel. |
| 17 Os filhos de Amon com grande algazarra acamparam em Gaad; e os filhos de Israel, congregando-se contra eles, acamparam em Masfa. | 17 The Ammonites had gathered for war and encamped in Gilead, while the Israelites assembled and encamped in Mizpah. |
| 18 O povo, os chefes de Galaad disseram uns para os outros: O primeiro de nós que começar a combater contra os filhos de Amon, será chefe do povo de Galaad. | 18 And among the people the princes of Gilead said to one another, "The one who begins the war against the Ammonites shall be leader of all the inhabitants of Gilead." |
