| 6 homens, mulheres e crianças, as filhas do rei e todas as pessoas que Nabuzardan, chefe da guarda, havia deixado com Godolias, filho de Aicão, filho de Safan, e com o profeta Jeremias e Baruch, filho de Néria, | 6 men, women, and children, the princesses and everyone whom Nebuzaradan, captain of the bodyguard, had entrusted to Gedaliah, son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan; also Jeremiah, the prophet, and Baruch, son of Neriah. |
| 7 e entraram na terra do Egito, porque não obedeceram à voz do Senhor. E chegaram a Tafnis. | 7 Against the LORD'S command they went to Egypt, and arrived at Tahpanhes. . . . |

O que é para a espada, à espada! | 11 He shall come and strike the land of Egypt: with death, whoever is marked for death; with exile, everyone destined for exile; with the sword, all who are intended for the sword. |
| 12 Fará pegar fogo aos templos dos deuses do Egito, queimá-los-á, e levará cativos os ídolos; despojará o Egito (de todos os seus tesouros) como um pastor expurga o seu manto, e sairá dali em paz; | 12 He shall set fire to the temples of Egypt's gods, and burn the gods or carry them off.
