| 1 Aquele que observa a lei (por isso mesmo, como que) multiplica as oferendas. | 1 He that keepeth the law, multiplieth offerings. |
| 2 É um sacrifício salutar estar atento aos mandamentos, e apartar-se de toda a iniquidade. | 2 It is a wholesome sacrifice to take heed to the commandments, and to depart from all iniquity. _J |
| 3 É oferecer um sacrifício de propiciação pelas injustiças e orar pelos pecados, o afastarmo-nos da injustiça. | 3 And to depart from injustice, is to offer a propitiatory sacrifice for injustices, and a begging of pardon for sins. |
| 4 Aquele que oferece a flor da farinha dá graças a Deus; e o que exerce a misericórdia oferece um sacrifício. | 4 He shall return thanks, that offereth fine flour: and he that doth mercy, offereth sacrifice. |
| 5 É agradável ao Senhor o fugir da iniquidade; é uma deprecação pelos pecados o retirar-se da injustiça. | 5 To depart from iniquity is that which pleaseth the Lord, and to depart from injustice, is an entreaty for sins. |
| 6 Não apareças com as mãos vazias diante do Senhor, | 6 Thou shalt not appear empty in the sight of the Lord. |
| 7 porque todas estas coisas se fazem por causa do mandamento de Deus. | 7 For all these things are to be done because of the commandment of God. |
| 8 A oblação do justo torna pingue o altar, e é um suave perfume diante do Altíssimo. | 8 The oblation of the just maketh the altar fat, and is an odour of sweetness in the sight of the most High. |
| 9 O sacrifício do justo é agradável (a Deus), o Senhor não se esquecerá dele. | 9 The sacrifice of the just is acceptable, and the Lord will not forget the memorial thereof. |
| 10 De bom ânimo tributa glória a Deus, e não diminuas as primícias de tuas mãos. | 10 Give glory to God with a good heart: and diminish not the firstfruits of thy hands. |
| 11 Tudo o que dás, dá-o com semblante alegre, santifica os teus dízimos com regozijo. | 11 In every gift shew a cheerful countenance, and sanctify thy tithes with joy. |
| 12 Dá ao Altíssimo segundo o que ele te tem dado, oferece-lhe com ânimo generoso, segundo as tuas posses, | 12 Give to the most High according to what he hath given to thee, and with a good eye do according to the ability of thy hands: |
| 13 porque o Senhor é remunerador, recompensar-te-á tudo sete vezes mais. | 13 For the Lord maketh recompense, and will give thee seven times as much. |
| 14 Não lhe ofereças donativos perversos, porque os não receberá. | 14 Do not offer wicked gifts, for such he will not receive. |
| 15 Não esperes nada dum sacrifício injusto, porque o Senhor é juiz, e não há para ele distinção de pessoas. | 15 And look not upon an unjust sacrifice, for the Lord is judge, and there is not with him respect of person. |
| 16 O Senhor não fará acepção de pessoas contra o pobre, e ouvirá a oração do oprimido. | 16 The Lord will not accept any person against a poor man, and he will hear the prayer of him that is wronged. |
| 17 Não desprezará os rogos do órfão, nem a viúva que lhe fala com os seus gemidos. | 17 He will not despise the prayers of the fatherless; nor the widow, when she poureth out her complaint. |
| 18 Não correm as lágrimas à viúva pelas suas faces, e não clama ela contra aquele que lhas faz derramar? | 18 Do not the widow's tears run down the cheek, and her cry against him that causeth them to fall? |
| 19 Efectivamente, elas das faces (da viúva) sobem até ao céu, e o Senhor, que a ouve, não gostará de a ver chorar. | 19 For from the cheek they go up even to heaven, and the Lord that heareth will not be delighted with them. |
| 20 Aquele que adora a Deus com alegria será bem acolhido, e a sua prece chegará até às nuvens. | 20 He that adoreth God with joy, shall be accepted, and his prayer shall approach even to the clouds. |
| 21 A oração do que se humilha penetrará as nuvens; ele não se consolará, enquanto ela não chegar (até Deus), e não se retirará, enquanto o Altíssimo não puser nela os olhos. | 21 The prayer of him that humbleth himself, shall pierce the clouds: and till it come nigh he will not be comforted: and he will not depart till the most High behold. |
| 22 O Senhor não diferirá por muito tempo, mas julgará os justos e lhes fará justiça: o Fortíssimo não usará mais de paciência (com os opressores), mas quebrar-lhes-á o dorso. | 22 And the Lord will not be slack, but will judge for the just, and will do judgment: and the Almighty will not have patience with them, that he may crush their back: |
| 23 Vingar-se-á das nações, até desfazer a multidão dos soberbos e quebrar os ceptros dos iníquos; | 23 And he will repay vengeance to the Gentiles, till he have taken away the multitude of the proud, and broken the sceptres of the unjust, |
| 24 até retribuir aos homens segundo as suas acções, segundo as obras e presunção de (qualquer descendente de) Adão; | 24 Till he have rendered to men according to their deeds: and according to the works of Adam, and according to his presumption, |
| 25 até fazer justiça ao seu povo e alegrar os justos com a sua misericórdia. | 25 Till he have judged the cause of his people, and he shall delight the just with his mercy. |
| 26 A misericórdia de Deus, no tempo da tribulação, é agradável, como a nuvem que se desfaz em chuva no tempo da seca. | 26 The mercy of God is beautiful in the time of affliction, as a cloud of rain in the time of drought. |
