| 3 Quando as nuvens estiverem carregadas, derramarão chuva sobre a terra. Se a árvore cair para a parte do Meio-dia, ou para a do norte, onde cair, aí ficará. | 3 If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth; and if a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie. |
| 4 O que observa o vento não semeia, e o que considera as nuvens nunca segará. | 4 He who observes the wind will not sow; and he who regards the clouds will not reap. |
| 5 Do mesmo modo que ignoras qual é o caminho do espirito, e de que sorte se formam os ossos no ventre da mulher grávida, assim também não conheces as obras de Deus, que é o criador de todas as coisas. | 5 As you do not know how the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything. |
| 6 Semeia de manhã a tua semente, e de tarde não deixes a tua mão repousar, porque não sabes o que terá bom êxito, se isto, se aquilo, ou se ambas as coisas são igualmente boas. | 6 In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand; for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good. |
| 7 A luz é doce, e é coisa deleitável aos olhos o ver o sol. | 7 Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to behold the sun. |
| 8 Se um homem viver muitos anos, e em todos eles se alegrar, deve lembrar-se dos dias de trevas que serão numerosos: tudo o que sucede é vaidade. | 8 For if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember that the days of darkness will be many. All that comes is vanity. |
| 9 Regozija-te, pois, ó jovem, na tua mocidade, e viva em alegria o teu coração na flor de teus anos; segue as inclinações do teu coração e o que agrada aos teus olhos, mas sabe que Deus te chamará a dar contas de todas estas coisas. | 9 Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. |
