| 1 A vós, irmãos, não vos pude falar como a homens espirituais, mas como a carnais, como a criancinhas em Cristo. | 1 But I, brethren, could not address you as spiritual men, but as men of the flesh, as babes in Christ. |
| 2 Eu vos dei leite a beber, e não alimento sólido que ainda não podíeis suportar. Nem ainda agora o podeis, porque ainda sois carnais. | 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food; for you were not ready for it; and even yet you are not ready, |
| 3 Com efeito, enquanto houver entre vós ciúmes e contendas, não será porque sois carnais e procedeis de um modo totalmente humano? | 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh, and behaving like ordinary men? |
| 4 Quando, entre vós, um diz: “Eu sou de Paulo” – e outro –: “Eu, de Apolo” –, não é isso um modo de pensar totalmente humano? | 4 For when one says, "I belong to Paul," and another, "I belong to Apollos," are you not merely men? |
| 5 Pois quem é Apolo? E quem é Paulo? Simples servos, por cujo intermédio abraçastes a fé, e isso conforme a medida que o Senhor repartiu a cada um deles: | 5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. |
| 6 eu plantei, Apolo regou, mas Deus é quem fez crescer. | 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. |
| 7 Assim, nem o que planta é alguma coisa nem o que rega, mas só Deus, que faz crescer. | 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. |
| 8 O que planta ou o que rega são iguais; cada um receberá a sua recompensa, segundo o seu trabalho. | 8 He who plants and he who waters are equal, and each shall receive his wages according to his labor. |
| 9 Nós somos operários com Deus. Vós, o campo de Deus, o edifício de Deus. | 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. |
| 10 Segundo a graça que Deus me deu, como sábio arquiteto lancei o fundamento, mas outro edifica sobre ele. | 10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and another man is building upon it. Let each man take care how he builds upon it. |
| 11 Quanto ao fundamento, ninguém pode pôr outro diverso daquele que já foi posto: Jesus Cristo. | 11 For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. |
| 12 Agora, se alguém edifica sobre este fundamento, com ouro, ou com prata, ou com pedras preciosas, com madeira, ou com feno, ou com palha, | 12 Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw-- |
| 13 a obra de cada um aparecerá. O dia (do julgamento) irá demonstrá-lo. Será descoberto pelo fogo; o fogo provará o que vale o trabalho de cada um. | 13 each man's work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. |
| 14 Se a construção resistir, o construtor receberá a recompensa. | 14 If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. |
| 15 Se pegar fogo, arcará com os danos. Ele será salvo, porém passando de alguma maneira através do fogo. | 15 If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. |
| 16 Não sabeis que sois o Templo de Deus, e que o Espírito de Deus habita em vós? | 16 Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? |
| 17 Se alguém destruir o Templo de Deus, Deus o destruirá. Porque o templo de Deus é sagrado – e isso sois vós. | 17 If any one destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and that temple you are. |
| 18 Ninguém se engane a si mesmo. Se alguém dentre vós se julga sábio à maneira deste mundo, faça-se louco para tornar-se sábio, | 18 Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. |
| 19 porque a sabedoria deste mundo é loucura diante de Deus; pois (diz a Escritura) ele apanhará os sábios na sua própria astúcia ( Jó 5,13 ). | 19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their craftiness," |
| 20 E em outro lugar: O Senhor conhece os pensamentos dos sábios, e ele sabe que são vãos ( Sl 93,11 ). | 20 and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile." |
| 21 Portanto, ninguém ponha sua glória nos homens. Tudo é vosso: | 21 So let no one boast of men. For all things are yours, |
| 22 Paulo, Apolo, Cefas, o mundo, a vida, a morte, o presente e o futuro. Tudo é vosso! | 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future, all are yours; |
| 23 Mas vós sois de Cristo, e Cristo é de Deus. | 23 and you are Christs; and Christ is Gods. |
