1 Paul and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	1 Paolo e Silvano e Timòteo alla Chiesa dei Tessalonicesi che è in Dio Padre e nel Signore Gesù Cristo: a voi, grazia e pace.
2 Grace and peace to you. We give thanks to God always for all of you, keeping the memory of you in our prayers without ceasing,	2 Rendiamo sempre grazie a Dio per tutti voi, ricordandovi nelle nostre preghiere
3 remembering your work of faith, and hardship, and charity, and enduring hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father.	3 e tenendo continuamente presenti l’operosità della vostra fede, la fatica della vostra carità e la fermezza della vostra speranza nel Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, davanti a Dio e Padre nostro.
4 For we know, brothers, beloved of God, of your election.	4 Sappiamo bene, fratelli amati da Dio, che siete stati scelti da lui.
5 For our Gospel has not been among you in word alone, but also in virtue, and in the Holy Spirit, and with a great fullness, in the same manner as you know we have acted among you for your sake.	5 Il nostro Vangelo, infatti, non si diffuse fra voi soltanto per mezzo della parola, ma anche con la potenza dello Spirito Santo e con profonda convinzione: ben sapete come ci siamo comportati in mezzo a voi per il vostro bene.
6 And so, you became imitators of us and of the Lord, accepting the Word in the midst of great tribulation, but with the joy of the Holy Spirit.	6 E voi avete seguito il nostro esempio e quello del Signore, avendo accolto la Parola in mezzo a grandi prove, con la gioia dello Spirito Santo,
7 So have you become a pattern for all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.	7 così da diventare modello per tutti i credenti della Macedonia e dell’Acaia.
8 For from you, the Word of the Lord was spread, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith, which is toward God, has advanced so much so that we do not need to speak to you about anything.	8 Infatti per mezzo vostro la parola del Signore risuona non soltanto in Macedonia e in Acaia, ma la vostra fede in Dio si è diffusa dappertutto, tanto che non abbiamo bisogno di parlarne.
9 For others are reporting among us of the kind of acceptance we had among you, and how you were converted from idols to God, to the service of the living and true God,	9 Sono essi infatti a raccontare come noi siamo venuti in mezzo a voi e come vi siete convertiti dagli idoli a Dio, per servire il Dio vivo e vero
10 and to the expectation of his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead), Jesus, who has rescued us from the approaching wrath.	10 e attendere dai cieli il suo Figlio, che egli ha risuscitato dai morti, Gesù, il quale ci libera dall’ira che viene.
