1 Paul and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	1 Paolo, Silvano e Timòteo alla Chiesa dei Tessalonicesi che è in Dio Padre e nel Signore Gesù Cristo: grazia a voi e pace!
2 Grace and peace to you. We give thanks to God always for all of you, keeping the memory of you in our prayers without ceasing,	2 Ringraziamo sempre Dio per tutti voi, ricordandovi nelle nostre preghiere, continuamente
3 remembering your work of faith, and hardship, and charity, and enduring hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father.	3 memori davanti a Dio e Padre nostro del vostro impegno nella fede, della vostra operosità nella carità e della vostra costante speranza nel Signore nostro Gesù Cristo.
4 For we know, brothers, beloved of God, of your election.	4 Noi ben sappiamo, fratelli amati da Dio, che siete stati eletti da lui.
5 For our Gospel has not been among you in word alone, but also in virtue, and in the Holy Spirit, and with a great fullness, in the same manner as you know we have acted among you for your sake.	5 Il nostro vangelo, infatti, non si è diffuso fra voi soltanto per mezzo della parola, ma anche con potenza e con Spirito Santo e con profonda convinzione, come ben sapete che siamo stati in mezzo a voi per il vostro bene.
6 And so, you became imitators of us and of the Lord, accepting the Word in the midst of great tribulation, but with the joy of the Holy Spirit.	6 E voi siete diventati imitatori nostri e del Signore, avendo accolto la parola con la gioia dello Spirito Santo anche in mezzo a grande tribolazione,
7 So have you become a pattern for all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.	7 così da diventare modello a tutti i credenti che sono nella Macedonia e nell'Acaia.
8 For from you, the Word of the Lord was spread, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith, which is toward God, has advanced so much so that we do not need to speak to you about anything.	8 Infatti la parola del Signore riecheggia per mezzo vostro non soltanto in Macedonia e nell'Acaia, ma la fama della vostra fede in Dio si è diffusa dappertutto, di modo che non abbiamo più bisogno di parlarne.
9 For others are reporting among us of the kind of acceptance we had among you, and how you were converted from idols to God, to the service of the living and true God,	9 Sono loro infatti a parlare di noi, dicendo come noi siamo venuti in mezzo a voi e come vi siete convertiti a Dio, allontanandovi dagli idoli, per servire al Dio vivo e vero
