1 Unto the end. For Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph.	1 (Per la fine. Per Iditun. Salmo di Asaf).
2 I cried out to the Lord with my voice, to God with my voice, and he attended to me.	2 Alzo la mia voce al Signore, alzo il mio grido a Dio, ed Egli mi ascolta.
3 In the days of my tribulation, I sought God, with my hands opposite him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be consoled.	3 Nei giorni della mia tribolazione io cerco Dio, nella notte protendo a lui le mie mani, senza mai stancarmi. L'anima mia rifiuta ogni consolazione;
4 I was mindful of God, and I was delighted, and I was distressed, and my spirit fell away.	4 Mi ricordo di Dio, e ne ho conforto; medito, e il mio spirito vien meno.
5 My eyes anticipated the vigils. I was disturbed, and I did not speak.	5 I miei occhi prevengono le ve glie; son turbato e non parlo.
6 I considered the days of antiquity, and I held the years of eternity in my mind.	6 Ripenso ai giorni antichi, ho nella inente gli anni eterni.
7 And I meditated in the night with my heart, and I was distressed, and I examined my spirit.	7 La notte sto meditando col mio cuore, e ripensando scruto il mio spirito.
8 So then, will God reject for eternity? Will he not continue to allow himself to show favor?	8 Forse Dio ci rigetterà per sempre? E non tornerà a mostrarsi più disposto a placarsi?
9 Or, will he cut off his mercy in the end, from generation to generation?	9 Forse toglierà via per sempre la sua misericordia, per tutte le generazioni?
10 And would God ever forget to be merciful? Or, would he, in his wrath, restrict his mercies?	10 Forse si dimenticherà Dio di essere pietoso, e impedirà, nel suo sdegno, le sue misericordie?
11 And I said, “Now I have begun. This change is from the right hand of the Most High.”	11 Io ho detto: « Ora incomincio. Questa mutazione è della destra dell'Eccelso ».
12 I was mindful of the works of the Lord. For I will be mindful from the beginning of your wonders,	12 Rammento le opere del Signore: rammento sempre le tue maraviglie fatte fin da principio.
13 and I will meditate on all your works. And I will take part in your intentions.	13 Mediterò tutte quante le opere tue, rifletterò alle tue imprese.
14 Your way, O God, is in what is holy. Which God is great like our God?	14 O Dio, sante sono le tue vie! Qual Dio è grande come il nostro Dio?
15 You are the God who performs miracles. You have made your virtue known among the peoples.	15 Tu sei il Dio che operi prodigi. Tu facesti conoscere tra i popoli la tua potenza:
16 With your arm, you have redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and of Joseph.	16 Col tuo braccio hai liberato il tuo popolo, i figli di Giacobbe e di Giuseppe.
17 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you, and they were afraid, and the depths were stirred up.	17 Le acque ti videro, o Dio, le acque ti videro, e tremarono, e restarono sconvolti gli abissi.
18 Great was the sound of the waters. The clouds uttered a voice. For your arrows also pass by.	18 Gran rumore di acque: le nubi fecero sentir la loro voce; le tue saette guizzarono,
19 The voice of your thunder is like a wheel. Your flashes have illuminated the whole world. The earth has quaked and trembled.	19 Il rombo del tuo tuono nel turbine, i tuoi folgori illuminarono il mondo: la terra fu sconvolta o tremò.
20 Your way is through the sea, and your paths are through many waters. And your traces will not be known.	20 La tua via fu nel mare, nelle grandi acque il tuo sentiero, e le tue orme non saran conosciute:
21 You have conducted your people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.	21 Come pecorelle tu guidasti il tuo popolo per mezzo di Mosè e di Aronne.
