1 Unto the end. For Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph.	1 - Al corifeo. Per Iditun (?). Salmo di Asaf.
2 I cried out to the Lord with my voice, to God with my voice, and he attended to me.	2 Con la mia voce grido al Signore, con la mia voce a Dio, ed egli m'ascolterà.
3 In the days of my tribulation, I sought God, with my hands opposite him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be consoled.	3 Nel dì della tribolazione io cerco il Signore, con le mani [stese] la notte verso di lui senza stancarmi. Ricusa consolazione l'anima mia!
4 I was mindful of God, and I was delighted, and I was distressed, and my spirit fell away.	4 Mi ricordo di Dio e gemo; ci rifletto su, e vien meno il mio spirito.
5 My eyes anticipated the vigils. I was disturbed, and I did not speak.	5 I miei occhi prevengono le veglie, son turbato e non parlo.
6 I considered the days of antiquity, and I held the years of eternity in my mind.	6 Ripenso ai giorni antichi, e gli anni del passato ho in mente.
7 And I meditated in the night with my heart, and I was distressed, and I examined my spirit.	7 E vo riflettendo la notte in cuor mio, e medito e scruto il mio spirito.
8 So then, will God reject for eternity? Will he not continue to allow himself to show favor?	8 Forsechè in eterno [mi] rigetterà il Signore, e non tornerà ad esser[mi] ancora propizio?
9 Or, will he cut off his mercy in the end, from generation to generation?	9 Toglierà egli via per sempre il suo favore?[verrà meno la sua promessa] di generazione in generazione?
10 And would God ever forget to be merciful? Or, would he, in his wrath, restrict his mercies?	10 Si dimenticherà forse d'aver pietà Iddio, o soffocherà nel suo sdegno la sua pietà?
11 And I said, “Now I have begun. This change is from the right hand of the Most High.”	11 E dico: «la mia pena è questa: s'è mutata la destra dell'Altissimo!».
12 I was mindful of the works of the Lord. For I will be mindful from the beginning of your wonders,	12 Rammento le geste del Signore: sì, rammento le geste del Signore:
13 and I will meditate on all your works. And I will take part in your intentions.	13 e rifletterò su tutte le tue opere, e sulle tue imprese mediterò.
14 Your way, O God, is in what is holy. Which God is great like our God?	14 O Dio, nella santità è la tua via: qual è il dio, grande come il nostro Dio?
15 You are the God who performs miracles. You have made your virtue known among the peoples.	15 Tu sei il Dio che operi portenti: hai reso nota tra le nazioni la tua potenza.
16 With your arm, you have redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and of Joseph.	16 Hai riscattato col tuo braccio il tuo Popolo, i figli di Giacobbe e di Giuseppe.
17 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you, and they were afraid, and the depths were stirred up.	17 Ti videro le acque, o Dio, ti videro le acque e paventarono, e furon sconvolti gli abissi.
18 Great was the sound of the waters. The clouds uttered a voice. For your arrows also pass by.	18 [Ci fu] fragore molto di acque!la [lor] voce mandaron fuori le nuvole, e le tue saette guizzarono.
19 The voice of your thunder is like a wheel. Your flashes have illuminated the whole world. The earth has quaked and trembled.	19 La voce del tuo tuono [rimbombò] nel turbine, i tuoi lampi rifulsero sul mondo: fu scossa e tremò la terra!
20 Your way is through the sea, and your paths are through many waters. And your traces will not be known.	20 Attraverso il mare fu la tua viae i tuoi sentieri fra le molte acque; e le tue orme non si riconobbero!
21 You have conducted your people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.	21 Guidasti come un gregge il tuo popolo per mano di Mosè e d'Aronne.
