Truly, from hyacinth and purple, vermillion and fine linen, he made the vestments with which Aaron was clothed when he ministered in the holy places, just as the Lord instructed Moses.1 With violet, purple and scarlet yarn were woven the service cloths for use in the sanctuary, as well as the sacred vestments for Aaron, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And so he made an ephod of gold, hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine twisted linen,2 The ephod was woven of gold thread and of violet, purple and scarlet yarn and of fine linen twined.
wrought with embroidery. And he cut thin strips of gold and drew them into threads, so that they could be twisted into the weave of the first colors.3 Gold was first hammered into gold leaf and then cut up into threads, which were woven with the violet, purple and scarlet yarn into an embroidered pattern on the fine linen.
And he made two edges, coupled to one another at the top of both sides,4 Shoulder straps were made for it and joined to its two upper ends.
and a wide belt from the same colors, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.5 The embroidered belt on the ephod extended out from it, and like it, was made of gold thread, of violet, purple and scarlet yarn, and of fine linen twined, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He also prepared two onyx stones, set and enclosed in gold, and engraved with the skill of a jeweler, with the names of the sons of Israel.6 The onyx stones were prepared and mounted in gold filigree work; they were engraved like seal engravings with the names of the sons of Israel.
And he set them in the sides of the ephod, as a memorial to the sons of Israel, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.7 These stones were set on the shoulder straps of the ephod as memorial stones of the sons of Israel, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He also made a breastplate, wrought with embroidery, according to the work of the ephod, from gold, hyacinth, purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine twisted linen:8 The breastpiece was embroidered like the ephod, with gold thread and violet, purple and scarlet yarn on cloth of fine linen twined.
with four equal sides, doubled, of the measure of the palm of a hand.9 It was square and folded double, a span high and a span wide in its folded form.
And he set four rows of gems in it. In the first row was a sardius stone, a topaz, an emerald;10 Four rows of precious stones were mounted on it: in the first row a carnelian, a topaz and an emerald;
in the second was a garnet, a sapphire, and a jasper;11 in the second row, a garnet, a sapphire and a beryl;
in the third was a zircon, an agate, and an amethyst;12 in the third row a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst;
in the fourth was a chrysolite, an onyx, and a beryl, surrounded and enclosed in gold by their rows.13 in the fourth row a chrysolite, an onyx and a jasper. They were mounted in gold filigree work.
And these twelve stones were engraved with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, each one with a single name.14 These stones were twelve, to match the names of the sons of Israel, and each stone was engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.
They also made, in the breastplate, little chains linked to one another, from the purest gold,15 Chains of pure gold, twisted like cords, were made for the breastpiece,
and two hooks, and the same number of gold rings. Moreover, they set the rings at both sides of the breastplate,16 together with two gold filigree rosettes and two gold rings. The two rings were fastened to the two upper ends of the breastpiece.
from which two golden chains would hang, which they connected with the hooks that projected from the corners of the ephod.17 The two gold chains were then fastened to the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece.
These were both in front and in back so that they met one another, and so that the ephod and the breastplate were woven together,18 The other two ends of the two chains were fastened in front to the two filigree rosettes, which were attached to the shoulder straps of the ephod.
being fastened to the wide belt and strongly coupled with rings, to which a hyacinth band was joined, lest they should shake loose and be moved away from one another, just as the Lord instructed Moses.19 Two other gold rings were made and put on the two lower ends of the breastpiece, on the edge facing the ephod.
They also made the tunic of the ephod entirely from hyacinth,20 Two more gold rings were made and fastened to the bottom of the two shoulder straps next to where they joined the ephod in front, just above its embroidered belt.
with the head in the upper part at the middle, and a woven edge all around the head.21 Violet ribbons bound the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod, so that the breastpiece stayed right above the embroidered belt of the ephod and did not swing loose from it. All this was just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Then, at the feet below, they also made pomegranates from hyacinth, purple, vermillion, and fine twisted linen,22 The robe of the ephod was woven entirely of violet yarn,
and little bells from the purest gold, which they set between the pomegranates at the very bottom of the tunic all around.23 with an opening in its center like the opening of a shirt, with selvage around the opening to keep it from being torn.
So then, the high priest approached, adorned with gold bell and pomegranate, when he performed his ministry, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.24 At the hem of the robe pomegranates were made of violet, purple and scarlet yarn and of fine linen twined;
They also made fine linen tunics with woven work, for Aaron and his sons,25 bells of pure gold were also made and put between the pomegranates all around the hem of the robe:
and headdresses with their little crowns of fine linen,26 first a bell, then a pomegranate, and thus alternating all around the hem of the robe which was to be worn in performing the ministry--all this, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
and also linen undergarments of fine linen.27 For Aaron and his sons there were also woven tunics of fine linen;
Truly, they also made a wide band of fine twisted linen, hyacinth, purple, as well as vermillion, twice-dyed, with skillful embroidery, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.28 the miter of fine linen; the ornate turbans of fine linen; drawers of linen (of fine linen twined);
They also made the plate of sacred veneration from the purest gold, and they wrote on it, with the skill of a jeweler: “Holy to the Lord.”29 and sashes of variegated work made of fine linen twined and of violet, purple and scarlet yarn, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And they fastened it to the headdress with a hyacinth band, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.30 The plate of the sacred diadem was made of pure gold and inscribed, as on a seal engraving: "Sacred to the LORD."
And so all the work of the tabernacle and of the covering of the testimony was completed. And the sons of Israel did all that the Lord had instructed Moses.31 It was tied over the miter with a violet ribbon, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And they offered the tabernacle, and the covering, and all of the articles: the rings, the panels, the bars, the columns and bases,32 Thus the entire work of the Dwelling of the meeting tent was completed. The Israelites did the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
the cover of the skins of rams, dyed red, and the other cover of violet skins,33 They then brought to Moses the Dwelling, the tent with all its appurtenances, the clasps, the boards, the bars, the columns, the pedestals,
the veil, the ark, the bars, the propitiatory,34 the covering of rams' skins dyed red, the covering of tahash skins, the curtain veil;
the table, with its vessels and the bread of the presence,35 the ark of the commandments with its poles, the propitiatory,
the lampstand, the lamps, and their utensils with the oil,36 the table with all its appurtenances and the showbread,
the altar of gold, and the ointment, and the incense of aromatics,37 the pure gold lampstand with its lamps set up on it and with all its appurtenances, the oil for the light,
and the tent at the entrance of the tabernacle,38 the golden altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense; the curtain for the entrance of the tent,
the altar of brass, the grating, the bars, and all of its vessels, the washtub with its base, the hangings of the atrium, and the columns with their bases,39 the altar of bronze with its bronze grating, its poles and all its appurtenances, the laver with its base,
the hanging at the entrance of the atrium, and their little cords and pegs. Nothing was lacking of the articles that were commanded to be made for the ministry of the tabernacle and for the covering of the covenant.40 the hangings of the court with their columns and pedestals, the curtain for the entrance of the court with its ropes and tent pegs, all the equipment for the service of the Dwelling of the meeting tent;
Likewise, the vestments, which the priests, namely, Aaron and his sons, make use of use in the Sanctuary,41 the service cloths for use in the sanctuary, the sacred vestments for Aaron the priest, and the vestments to be worn by his sons in their ministry.
the sons of Israel offered, just as the Lord had instructed.42 The Israelites had carried out all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
After this, when Moses saw that everything was completed, he blessed them.43 So when Moses saw that all the work was done just as the LORD had commanded, he blessed them.
