2 Samuel 9

1 And David said, “Do you think that there could be anyone left from the house of Saul, so that I might show mercy to him because of Jonathan?”	1 David demanda: "Est-ce qu'il y a encore un survivant de la famille de Saül, pour que je le traiteavec bonté par égard pour Jonathan?"
2 Now there was, from the house of Saul, a servant named Ziba. And when the king had called him to himself, he said to him, “Are you not Ziba?” And he responded, “I am your servant.”	2 Or la famille de Saül avait un serviteur, qui se nommait Ciba. On l'appela auprès de David et le roilui dit: "Tu es Ciba?" Il répondit: "Pour te servir."
3 And the king said, “Could there be anyone alive from the house of Saul, so that I may show the mercy of God to him?” And Ziba said to the king, “There is left alive a son of Jonathan, with disabled feet.”	3 Le roi lui demanda: "Ne reste-t-il pas quelqu'un de la famille de Saül, pour que je le traite avecune bonté comme celle de Dieu?" Ciba répondit au roi: "Il y a encore un fils de Jonathan qui est perclus des deuxpieds" --
4 “Where is he?” he said. And Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.”	4 "Où est-il", demanda le roi, et Ciba répondit au roi: "Il est dans la maison de Makir, fils d'Ammiel,à Lo-Debar."
5 Therefore, king David sent and brought him from the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.	5 Le roi l'envoya donc chercher à la maison de Makir, fils d'Ammiel, de Lo-Debar.
6 And when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell upon his face, and he reverenced. And David said, “Mephibosheth?” And he responded, “Your servant is here.”	6 En arrivant auprès de David, Meribbaal, fils de Jonathan fils de Saül, tomba sur sa face et seprosterna. David dit: Meribbaal!" Et il répondit: "C'est moi, pour te servir."
7 And David said to him: “Do not be afraid. For I will certainly show mercy to you because of your father Jonathan. And I will restore to you all the fields of your father Saul. And you shall eat bread at my table always.”	7 David lui dit: "N'aie pas peur, car je veux te traiter avec bonté par égard pour ton père Jonathan. Jete restituerai toutes les terres de Saül ton aïeul et tu mangeras toujours à ma table."
8 And reverencing him, he said, “Who am I, your servant, that you should look with favor upon a dead dog like me?”	8 Meribbaal se prosterna et dit: "Qui est ton serviteur pour que tu fasses grâce à un chien crevé telque moi?"
9 And so, the king called Ziba, the servant of Saul, and he said to him: “Everything whatsoever that belonged to Saul, and his entire house, I have given to the son of your lord.	9 Puis le roi appela Ciba, le serviteur de Saül, et lui dit: "Tout ce qui appartient à Saül et à safamille, je le donne au fils de ton maître.
10 And so, work the land for him, you and your sons and your servants. And you shall bring in food for the son of your lord, for nourishment. And Mephibosheth, the son of your lord, shall always eat bread at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.	10 Tu travailleras pour lui la terre, toi avec tes fils et tes esclaves, tu en récolteras le produit quiassurera à la famille de ton maître le pain qu'elle mangera; quant à Meribbaal, le fils de ton maître, il prendratoujours ses repas à ma table." Or Ciba avait quinze fils et vingt esclaves.
11 And Ziba said to the king: “Just as my lord has ordered your servant, so will your servant do. And Mephibosheth shall eat at my table, like one of the sons of the king.”	11 Ciba répondit au roi: "Ton serviteur fera tout ce que Monseigneur le roi a ordonné à sonserviteur." Donc Meribbaal mangeait à la table de David, comme l'un des fils du roi.
12 Now Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Mica. Truly, all the kindred of the house of Ziba served Mephibosheth.	12 Meribbaal avait un petit garçon qui se nommait Mika. Tous ceux qui habitaient chez Ciba étaientau service de Meribbaal.
13 But Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem. For he was fed always from the table of the king. And he was lame in both feet.	13 Mais Meribbaal résidait à Jérusalem, puisqu'il mangeait toujours à la table du roi. Il était perclusdes deux pieds.
