1 And David said, “Do you think that there could be anyone left from the house of Saul, so that I might show mercy to him because of Jonathan?”	1 David demanda: “Y a-t-il encore un survivant dans la famille de Saül pour que je le traite avec bonté en souvenir de Jonathan?”
2 Now there was, from the house of Saul, a servant named Ziba. And when the king had called him to himself, he said to him, “Are you not Ziba?” And he responded, “I am your servant.”	2 Or la famille de Saül avait un intendant qui se nommait Siba. On le conduisit auprès de David et le roi lui dit: “Tu es bien Siba?” Il répondit: “Pour te servir.”
3 And the king said, “Could there be anyone alive from the house of Saul, so that I may show the mercy of God to him?” And Ziba said to the king, “There is left alive a son of Jonathan, with disabled feet.”	3 Le roi lui demanda: “Reste-t-il encore un survivant de la famille de Saül pour que je le traite avec une bonté digne de Dieu?” Siba répondit au roi: “Il reste encore un fils de Jonathan qui est infirme des deux pieds.”
4 “Where is he?” he said. And Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.”	4 “Où est-il?” demanda le roi. Siba répondit au roi: “Il est dans la maison de Makir, fils d’Ammiel, à Lo-Débar.”
5 Therefore, king David sent and brought him from the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.	5 Le roi David l’envoya donc chercher à la maison de Makir, fils d’Ammiel à Lo-Débar.
6 And when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell upon his face, and he reverenced. And David said, “Mephibosheth?” And he responded, “Your servant is here.”	6 Quand Méribaal, fils de Jonathan, fils de Saül, arriva auprès de David, il se prosterna le visage contre terre. David lui dit: “Méribaal!” Il répondit: “Je suis ton serviteur.”
7 And David said to him: “Do not be afraid. For I will certainly show mercy to you because of your father Jonathan. And I will restore to you all the fields of your father Saul. And you shall eat bread at my table always.”	7 Alors David lui dit: “Ne crains rien, je veux te traiter avec bonté à cause de ton père Jonathan. Je te rendrai toutes les terres de Saül ton ancêtre, et tous les jours tu prendras tes repas à ma table.”
8 And reverencing him, he said, “Who am I, your servant, that you should look with favor upon a dead dog like me?”	8 Il se prosterna de nouveau et dit: “Qui est ton serviteur, pour que tu fasses attention à un chien crevé tel que moi?”
9 And so, the king called Ziba, the servant of Saul, and he said to him: “Everything whatsoever that belonged to Saul, and his entire house, I have given to the son of your lord.	9 Le roi convoqua Siba, le serviteur de Saül, et lui dit: “Je donne au fils de ton maître tout ce qui appartenait à Saül et à sa famille.
10 And so, work the land for him, you and your sons and your servants. And you shall bring in food for the son of your lord, for nourishment. And Mephibosheth, the son of your lord, shall always eat bread at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.	10 Tu travailleras pour lui la terre avec tes fils et tes esclaves, tu en récolteras les fruits, et ainsi tu assureras à la famille de ton maître la nourriture dont elle a besoin. Mais Méribaal, le fils de ton maître, prendra tous les jours ses repas à ma table.” Siba avait 15 fils et 20 esclaves,
11 And Ziba said to the king: “Just as my lord has ordered your servant, so will your servant do. And Mephibosheth shall eat at my table, like one of the sons of the king.”	11 il répondit au roi: “Ton serviteur fera tout ce que mon seigneur le roi a commandé à son serviteur.” Ainsi Méribaal prenait ses repas à la table de David comme l’un des fils du roi,
12 Now Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Mica. Truly, all the kindred of the house of Ziba served Mephibosheth.	12 Méribaal avait un petit garçon qui se nommait Mika. Tous les gens de la maison de Siba travaillaient pour Méribaal,
13 But Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem. For he was fed always from the table of the king. And he was lame in both feet.	13 Mais Méribaal résidait à Jérusalem où il prenait tous les jours ses repas à la table du roi. Il était infirme de ses deux pieds.
