Ezekiel 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows:	1 E disse Iddio a me:
2 Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than wood from the branch of a forest tree?	2 O figliuolo d' uomo, che si farà allo legno della vite di tutti li legni de' boschi, i quali sono tra li legni delle selve?
3 Is its wood used for making anything? Are pegs on which to hang things made from it?	3 Or torrassi alcuno legno di lei (cioè della selva) per adoperarlo? O farassene cavigliuolo, acciò che vi si appicchi ogni vaso?
4 There it is, thrown on the fire for fuel. The fire burns off both ends; the middle is charred; can it be keptfor anything now?	4 Ecco ch' è dato per esca al fuoco; lo fuoco hae arso cadauna parte di lui, e tornato è la metà in favilla: or sarà ello da adoperare utile?
5 While it was intact, you could make nothing with it; burned and charred, is it any more useful now?	5 Ancora quando era integro, non era buono a opera alcuna; quanto maggiormente quando lo fuoco l'hae divorato? E peroe non se ne puote fare niuna opera.
6 So, the Lord Yahweh says this: As the wood of the vine among the forest trees, which I have thrownon the fire for fuel, so shal I treat the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	6 Però questo dice lo Signore Iddio: come lo legno della vite tra le legne della selva, lo quale io diedi al fuoco a divorare, così darò li abitatori di Ierusalem.
7 I shal set my face against them. They have escaped one fire, but fire wil devour them yet. And youwil know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.	7 E porrò la mia faccia in loro; loro usciranno dal fuoco, e lo fuoco li consumerà; e saprete ch' io sono Iddio, quando io averò posto la mia faccia in loro.
8 I shal reduce the country to a desert, because of their infidelity- declares the Lord Yahweh.	8 E farò la terra isviata e desolata, però che sono stati prevaricatori, dice lo Signore Iddio (onnipotente).
